Hello. I’m new to the forum. I’ve learned about PE a couple of months ago. I began with practicing some wet jelqing with petroleum jelly and I gained some additional foreskin (I’m circumcised). I then began taking PE more seriously and I’ve been doing the newbie routine for 3.5 weeks. My erections feel somewhat harder and there are more veins.

I’ve now run into two problems. First, I’ve been experiencing some numbness. I haven’t lost all sensitivity but I’ve lost enough to feel worried about it. Because of this, I’ve been having problems getting and maintaining an erection.

The second problem involves my ejaculations. I’ve had problems with premature ejaculations for a long time and I wanted to overcome it. I used various methods of self-talk to help beat this shitty issue. I now find myself not being able to ejaculate at all! I can get to the point where I feel like I’m going to cum but nothing comes out. I figure it may have to do with the kegels, me not being used to my sense of “control” or a combination of the two.

I’m having a hard time deciding whether my problems are physical or psychological. Any suggestions?

Your problems from what you write seem to me to be psychological, but the numbness should give you a little pause. One of the main things newbies do wrong it to PE way to hard. you want to give your unit time to get accustomed to the exercises. Don’t try to rip it off, just ease into the routine and let things happen in a natural manner. When I started I was getting some bruises and after talking to some of the members here I realized I was jelqing way too hard.

Do you feel the numbness if you are doing something other that PE, like masturbating? If you are that doesn’t sound very good. The last thing you want to do is cause any nerve damage to it, that would make your life a living hell.

Don’t expect anything to happen fast, you will not be dragging you dick on the floor in a month. Set your expectations low, and keep at PE, and you will not be disappointed by having to run marathon instead of sprinting.

Numbness from the Newbie routine should be extremely rare to non-existent. The only real chance for it might be by maintaining a bad grip when stretching. Keep the flesh between thumb and forefinger over the top of the penis when you grip and put pressure on the sides for safety.

When you say numbness what do you mean? How long does it last? Numbness is bad. Trying to avoid it might be a good plan.

With your ejaculations we hit even greater chances of psychological issues. If you’re losing the premature ejaculations because you’re learning how the penis (and BC muscle) work in a bit more detail, this might be a good thing in the long term.

When we PE we focus an awful lot on a piece of our anatomy that we are more used to simply sticking in things without thinking about. This can lead to some weird ideas about what is actually going on. Might be good to do a survey of your manhood now: take some detailed pics, measure everything, note the vein formations and anything else that grabs the attention. This way you won’t be surprised in a month’s time by noticing something new which isn’t at all.

I am fairy new as well, and there are four things that I missed when I started, some of which others covered in their posts:

1. As a newbie there should be no bruising etc.

2. Put pressure on the sides, not top and bottom. There is a nerve that runs along the top.

3. Don’t jelq the head of your penis, stop just before the head.

4. Most of us newbies do it way too hard. Some say there should be basically no discomfort. Some say there can be a very slight ache. But basically no one says there should be anything you would call pain.

I would consider stopping until the numbness goes away, and then some. After that I might want to start again doing the routine at a very low intensity.

Thanks for the replies. One thing I was doing wrong was putting pressure from the top to bottom and not from the sides. I have noticed some numbness from other activities such as masturbating. I’ll put off PE until the problem wanes. The last thing I need is damage to my manhood.

How long has it been? I usually give myself at least 2 to 3 days a week! After that my dick is usually healthy and eager to get erect at every possible moment. Just give it a few days to a week. If you have already given it that much time, then That’s a problem! Otherwise just hang out for a few days to a week until things start to look and feel normal. Do some running, I read in a lot of posts from some VERY helpful people, that running or exercise helps the blood flow to your penis. This might aid in the healing time. If you experience the same problem for more than 4 to 7 days, I would say go see a doctor. Otherwise just relax and hang out for a while.

Also, there is a thread for injuries I think under the members forums. You might want to check that out too.

Don’t grip to hard, no more than the grip you would use to masturbate. Then as you get skill under your belt and become more conditioned tighten it up about 1mm.
