Hanging for newbies

Hanging for newbies

I’m guessing that I will probably get some negative feedback on this, but first hear me out.

I have never PE’d prior and have been doing the newbie routine for less than a week. I don’t get a lot out of the stretching portion of the routine because I have trouble maintaining my grip. I have read through past posts on this topic and tried some of the suggestions (e.g. Baby powder or wrap tip with toilet paper, etc) but nothing seems to help as I still end up pulling mostly skin as I can’t firmly grip the area just beneath my glans.

I think that part of the problem is that my head tapers from my shaft. Anyway, I would like to substitute light hanging in lieu of stretching for not only the grip issue but also the following reasons:

Hanging is considered by most of you an advanced exercise, and given the weight that many of you use it probably is. However, hanging with light weight seems safer than manual stretches because the force that is stretching the penis is quantifiable and can be increased in small increments; however, with manual stretching this is not the case. With manual stretches the force applied will vary from day to day. How can you measure success when you can’t control the variable of the force applied to your penis? For those of you who work out and keep an accurate log you know what I am talking about.

Also, assuming that I could grip my dick (which I can’t), what if I wanted to increase the force applied to the stretch by 5% each week. This would not be possible whereas with hanging it would be possible. Because I cannot consistently add small amounts of force through manual stretching, and assuming that the idea is to constantly add a small amount of force as one progresses from week to week, it seems that I would be more likely to injure myself via manual stretches rather than hanging.

Another reason that I would like to start hanging is that from what I have read of your experiences hanging takes a couple of months to get used to and to get the device dialed in.

From what I have read it seems that most of the best gainers here have seen their best gains from hanging, so it’s inevitable that I will hang at some point, and I don’t see a reason to wait.

That said, if you guys still think that I’m being over zealous then I will wait. On that note, I think it’s pretty cool that guys that I have never met and likely never will meet have an interest in the health of my penis, no sarcasm intended. You guys are a classy bunch.

Just thought of this but my argument assumes that hanging and stretching in the same routine would be redundant. Maybe this isn’t the case and if so one cannot be substituted for the other and I will have to keep stretching regardless.

Good luck getting a hanger to work if you can’t figure out manual grip. :)

Yes, you’re right, hanging is much easier to quantify than manual stretching, but that doesn’t stop manual stretching from being the #1 newbie exercise out there.

It simply works, whether you can measure it or can’t.

I didn’t read everything only your second post and I think hanging and stretching are similar not same, so there is no problem putting both on the same routine, there are huge differences such as time and strength, I myself do manual stretches and wear an extender and I don’t think it is redundant in fact I believe it boost my length gains, good luck and good gains

Not true at all.

Hanging is either amazing or horrible for many guys. It depends entirely on your psychology. Reading tanjince’s post and he isn’t obviously not matching the hanging = magik profile. And plenty of guys you can tell that they don’t just by reading their posts.

That would be my only concern. Hanging has one of the steepest learning curves in PE. Having mastered manual PE can only help you in your hanging endeavors. And if you can’t get jelqing to work you could easily hurt you penis trying to figure out hanging.

I can’t grab my flaccid penis well enough to do stretch without major pressure in the head. Luckily, I can do that with my hanger.

If you want to start hanging, read the blink2000 hanging guides on the hangers forum. Build a wench or try something homemade first. I wish I would have always been hanging, that’s where all my gains are from.

If you don’t gain with 3 months doing the newbie routine, forget it and start hanging.

Manual newbie routine for at least three months. No devices.

You’ve only PE’d for 7 days. 7 days was not long enough for me to “get it” when it came to stretching. I too thought I would never be able to stretch. Practice makes perfect.

Hanging is also something that requires dedication, consistency, and a great deal of time. Think of the newbie routine as your personal qualifying school. In addition to all the other benefits of starting with basic stretches and jelqs, it will also serve as a indicator of how much time you have to devote to PE, your level of motivation after a few months and your ability to be consistent and regimented. Haphazard or inconsistent hanging will do more to prevent gains than it will to provide them - that’s what I see as the biggest “reason to wait”.

There are so many reasons why starting with 3 months of the newbie routine is the consistent answer to every question like this. You condition your unit, you learn how your individual body responds to workouts, you have a great chance of quick easy gains from a simple, short -duration routine, you’ll most likely increase your EQ (which can also equal “gains”) and you’ll do it all in a low-risk, high-reward environment.

Like many, my fastest and best gains came from my first 5-6 months of manual stretches and jelqing.

Well I jelqed and stretched a year without gains at all. Then I started hanging and got my first 1” fairly quickly(did some on/off type hanging). I’d say that start with newbie routine and do it for 3 months. If you don’t gain anything, it’s a waste of time doing it again and again and hoping for different outcome.

If you gain from it(real gain too, not just EQ increase) then keep doing manuals. It’s great if you can gain from less.
