I’ve fallen into a bad habit, but I can’t be the only one. I’ve been applying a warm wrap before exercising, but not after. Does anyone else disregard the post-workout warm wrap? What have your personal results been? How do you think this helps/hurts you?

In sports training, warm-down (or cool-down) is considered an essetial part of the training exercise because it helps recovery of muscles, also prevents injury.

Whilst the penis is not a muscle it does rely on the various muscles around it to operate properly. So apart from the muscles warm-down assists the penis to recover from the strenuous exercises which it doesn’t normally enjoy.

I do it because I want to hold onto that post-workout hang as long as possible.

Plus, if I don’t warm down, my penis turtles few minutes after workout and that could be counter-productive.

Apparently using a coldpack or something cold as a ‘cool down’ is showing promise as a good way to finish up..I suggest you do a search.

These replies are interesting, and somewhat helpful, but don’t really answer my question. Really, nobody skips the warm-down?

Do you shower after your workout? I mean, I spot clean the lube off myself, but I don’t quite get completely clean. So wrapping a rice sock around my somewhat waterlogged and not-entirely-gunk-free dick never seems appealing… although maybe I should man up and get over it.

I just find it hard to believe that with 125,000 members, I’m the only one.

I don’t usually bother with a warm-down or cool down, but I usually do my stretching and at least one round of jelqing in the shower, so maybe I’m getting a warm down just from the additional time in the shower after my routine. This morning, having read some of the posts, I did do a cool-down in the shower.

But generally speaking, no, I don’t do a warm-down. Then again, I’ve only been at it for a few months, and I haven’t seen any remarkable gains, especially in NBPEL.

I don’t warm down at all. I’m still gaining either way.

Yeah I gotta say, the warmup/cool down is always the reason a routine doesn’t happen for me. It would be so much easier without needing them. I don’t have the privacy or convenience to just do what I please when I please in my current living conditions, and putting a sock in the microwave feels strange as I get all sorts of odd looks.

On a side note: When I DO warm down, I notice that immediately kills the post-workout pump, whereas if I leave it, I stay larger for longer—though I still drop back down soon afterward. So its kind of demoralizing for me to warm down at all, and hence……end up not doing routines.

Gahhhhhh I just wish I could stay focused and DO these damn things.

It does not matter a can of beans either way, if you like the way it feels and the comfort it brings go ahead and do it. Otherwise, lounging in a lazy boy will provide the same growth results.

To answer your question more closely: About 3 months in I have given up warm down because I just didn’t have the patience for it.

It was about the time I slowed down my progress. So… Maybe it’s just me, but IMHO warm down is as important as warm up for gains sake.

I don’t do a warm down because I don’t finish my routine till late at night and it’s weird to be warming up a rice sock in the middle of the night. Anyway after over 2 months I’m still making steady gains although I feel warm ups/downs will yield better results. Just try to warm down as many times you can.

Yeah same thing MTGX, I have noticed that warm-downs make my good flaccid hang after a workout vanish. I usualy just take a shower(not terribly hot) and am good to go.

You should try a Cooldown. You might be able to get away with this if you put some socks in the freezer earlier or something lol

I have the same problem man, for the warm up I just use a rice sack desinged for sore neck and say i’ve got a sore neck or some shit, you can buy them for not much at lots of places.

I don’t do a warm down, but I use heat (rice sock) the whole time I’m hanging, and yes always It’s more comfortable. After hanging I jelq for 20 minutes then use a ziplock bag full of cold water for 2 minutes. It seems logical to me to warm up, then cool down. It feels right anyway.

I’m actually kind of surprised that people are actually applying ice to cool down. Cold makes things contract, where as heat makes things expand.
