I’ve been in this about 13 months as well, started summer of 2016, and I am same as you. I call them “growth pops.” I have seen two 1/4” pops (length) after 2+ weeks decon, one after a vasectomy, another after a simple time-off. Note: This is only for length. Girth has been a series of increased averages, with no “pops.” So I suspect it is just the ligament giving way, but only after I give it time to heal.
So this year I am incorporating a monthly rest week into my routine. I am joining the “less is more” camp, and have even backed my routines down to twice per week, with a one week rest each month. Albeit, the two weekly routines are incredibly intense. The idea is to “pop” each month, following a 10 day rest or so.
