Hey I have most likely a very bad question but I hope others have the same problem.I have bad arthritis in my hands so I can’t maintain a strong grip for long before it hurts and I have to stop (about 2-3 mins). I was wondering when I am jelqing if having a weak grip is a problem and if it will affect my gains. Also if anyone has tips to get around this would be very appreciated!

You can try hanging or a static strecher.

Or perhaps try to make your hands stronger?

I don’t think a new member should attempt hanging. What you may want to try Saskdude is V stretches and inverted V stretches for added tension, and another thought may be for you to research some of the ADS wrapping techniques and use that to stretch rather than actually tie it down all day.

Use some tissue paper to aid your grip.

Try overhand grip. IMO, they are much stronger than underhand.

WELCOME saskdude Glad to have you with us.

I have had arthritis since I was in my late 20’s and I also have arthritic hands and mine hurt also. They don’t hurt as much now as when I started, so in a way, I think PEing has helped. Before, I also had a problem holding a pen or pencil for long periods of time writing, but not now. Again, I think that PEing has helped. My belief is that it isn’t only good for your penis, but for your general health.

I learned early that it was impossible for me to jelq with both hands, so I started to jelq with one hand at a time. I now do a 25 minute session of
up to 400-500 “very slow and intense” 3 to 5 count strokes. I jelq for 50 strokes with the right hand, and then change and jelq for 50 strokes with the left, etc. Since I have the same problem with my arms, legs, and hips getting tired and hurting, I either do the jelqs (also the stretches) sitting on the edge of a chair or, what I find the best for doing both, to stand with one bent leg on the chair seat, and lean my forearm on my thigh and jelq (or stretch) with that arm/hand. Then change to the other leg/arm/hand. I don’t seem to get tired or hurt as much that way. Actually I find stretching best while sitting on the edge of a chair.

Since April 2007, when I started, the arthritis in my hands, arms, and hips have lessened considerably. Maybe because I am exercising them by doing the PEing. I don’t know, and I don’t really care. All I know is that my arthritis is not as bad as it was.

Try it, it may help you too.

You could either construct , or purchase , a Power Jelq device , which is basically a pair of tongs with rubber gripping cylinders .

It would greatly increase the amount of force you could exert with your arthritic hand condition .

Thanks for the help and I’ll alternate hands and try those stretches too and hope that it stops hurting like yours did Panos. :)
