Biology is not always a logical and precise science. In terms of larger statistic entities, you can make evidence-based statements. Unfortunately, when it comes to prediction for the individual, the probability is much smaller to be able to be precise.
Our bodies are certainly similar in anatomy, but far away from being identical. And the same applies to our bodies biochemistry. Similar, but not identical.
So it well may be possible to have “low impact, low frequency gainers” as well as ” more is more” types - and any variation between.
Compare it with marathon training: 2 guys starting at same performance level and undergoing the exact training routine, food and lifestyle do not forcefully make the same progress. There are so many variables in this equation it is hard to calculate exactly.
So it is based, or rather precisely because of, our anatomy. Scientifically spoken.
