After almost 3 weeks of responsible PE, I think my penis is understanding what the hell is going on.

Now, whenever I take that rice sock and whip out my penis, he gets ugly, mean and gives me that one-eyed look that’s trying to say “let’s get it on, mu’fucka’!”. That’s what I call getting your cock into PE attitude.

I know it sounds funny or stupid, but I actually think it has important biological significance. I think your penis has to undergo metabolic changes that adapt it to stress. I think we all agree PE is an important new stress burden layed upon your soldier. It involves angiogenesis (blood vessel neo-formation), massive cell regeneration, collagen remodelling, perhaps chondrogenesis too, etc. All these new changes take some time to have real (and not only temporary, emergency) effects on cellular activity. That’s why the newbie routine is a good start, because it introduces this new stress to all your cells in a non-traumatic (or maybe less traumatic) way.

I think PEers should only consider advancing to more complex routines after they notice that their penis is adapting to the new stress. Good indicators of this adaptation are the very often discussed and mentioned PIs (positive physiological indicators; if in doubt, search it, there’s a very good thread on this). I also think the lack of mild soreness indicates that one should consider extending work-out periods or increasing intensity.

This degree of adaptation is most likely progessive. It being progressive probably has a lot to do with what we call “cementing gains”. Why? Because when your cells “decide” they have to increase even more their metabolism to keep up with the stress, the changes induced by the previous levels of stress will stay that way. (Keep in mind that all this is hypothetical) Meaning that any gains one might have had due to any previous routines, will probably stay that way. Even if one doesn’t change the routine and keeps having constant gains, this too accounts for a constant perfectioning in the degree of adaptation. (I hope this is understandable). Let’s not forget that our cells in general are very “plastic” and can adapt to the most amazing scenarios, PE just being one of them. Evolution is about adaptation anyway.

Permanent gains could have to do with adaptation becoming “cronic”. How adaptation could become cronic I don’t know, but it may have to do with epigenetical changes. Epigenetics is a very recent field of research and thus, very unexplored and poorly understood, but I think it has a lot to do with permanent gains due to PE.
