First of all, welcome to Thunder’s. This is a great community of guys (and a few gals) who are focused on male self-improvement. There is a shit ton of great info on this site, and I assure you most of the questions you have at the moment have been covered in-depth already.

It can be a little intimidating knowing where to start though, so here are a few helpful hints to ease you in:

First, if you haven’t already done so, please check out START HERE ——-> NEWBIE ROUTINE <——- Important Newbie Threads/Info (which can also be found at the top of this forum.) And make a point of reading the Forum Guidelines carefully.

Second, if you have a pressing, burning question or issue that needs to be addressed, please use the search function, which can be accessed either through the left menu bar or at the upper right hand corner of your screen. How to use the Search button for best results will give you a head start in using this function effectively. Often times there will be at least one or two large threads that cover a given subject exhaustively. Read through those threads, and if your specific question hasn’t been addressed fully, post it there. That way the relevant info stays in one easily accessible place and you are helping add to the body of knowledge for the next batch of newbies. If you can’t find a thread that covers your question (highly unlikely), go ahead and start a new one. Also, feel free to start a thread introducing yourself if you want, though you can also post here: Lose your Thundersplace posting virginity here! .

Also, if you make a long post, it is very helpful to break it into smaller paragraphs so it’s easier to read (the paragraph above is almost too long.) And please take extra care to use proper spelling and punctuation, as well as avoiding "chat speak." We are an international community, and for many of our members English is a second (or third) language. Plus, there are some Mods who are real grammar nazis, and it’s best to stay on their good side. ;)

Or maybe that no matter what thread you click on, you get this one first and have to complete the 20-question quiz with a minimum of 18 correct answers until you can access the rest of the forums?

That would keep the mods from reading a lot of posts.

I think some guys would leave after 2 mins and go looking for other sites because it’s something very annoying.

But I always thought that it should be useful to stick the newbie thread on top of the newbie forum.
