Fat pad and exercising

Recently I have lost about 45 pounds because I have stopped drinking and stopped smoking. I noticed that a good amount of fat had left the fat pad above my penis. I still have about 15 pounds to lose of fat or to gain in muscle. I go to the gym about everyday and I take ephedrine, which is working extremely well by the way. I was wondering if there are any specific exercises that I can do to get rid of the rest of that fat pad. I have been going to the gym for about a week and a half daily now, and plan to continue that for the rest of my life. I do about 45 minutes to an hour of cardio when I go to the gym and I think I need to lose about 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches on my fat pad. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Whatever some people might say, the only way to get rid of the fat in a specific place is to loose weight overall.

So, I believe you do enough cardio, maybe just a change in a diet would be good.

Oh, and bad news, if you are like most people (including myself), the fat pad will disappear last. :(

True but the fat pad is one of those last places to loose fat things.Lipo would be a good choose if it’s that much of a problem,at lest it would not come back to haunt you ever.

5/27/09 start>>> BP Length 5.5 NBP 5 Girth 5.5

7/16/09>>> BP Length 6 NBP 5.5 Girth 5.5.

Thank you PE and Thunders.

Liposuction should be a last resort.

I would say do whatever you can to lower your natural body fat ratio first.

Excellent.

Hmm…

Ephedrine is not a good way to go. It can have negative effects for your overall health, especially heart health.

If you want to burn fat more efficiently Acetyl L-Carnitine would be a better (and safer) choice. Ephedrine is essentially speed.

As House MD has suggested there is really no way to specifically target areas of body fat. You need to lower your overall body fat ratio and the only way to do that is to exercise, monitor your diet, and just keep working.

I strongly suggest that you incorporate weight lifting. Cardio alone only affords you so much. I’m not suggesting that you go all gung-ho and attempt to become a power lifter, but a solid program of weight training three times a week, with cardio work on alternate days (a six day a week regimen), along with a responsible diet will take more body fat off quicker than loading up on a mild form of speed and doing 45 minutes on the treadmill.

Body for Life would probably really work for you. They also have a Web site; Google "Body for Life".

They recommend a six meal a day paradigm; three regular meals and three of Bill Philips Myoplex supplements, but you could substitute a comparable supplement if that’s too expensive. The idea behind six small meals a day is that your glycemic index will stay level, which will lessen your hunger, allowing you to stay within bounds of your calorie intake for a given day.

It’s an approach.

Just keep up your cardio. And eat healthy, stick to the pyramid if you need to. Your diet is a big part, in gaining weight and in losing weight. Talk to a personal trainer at your gym, It doesn’t hurt to ask.

I believe your stomach area is the last place to lose the fat. Just keep doing what you’re doing!

Has the ephedrine made you turtle? I’m curious because even though it is awesome for energy and fat loss, it always made me turtle, even more than caffeine.

Keep doing cardio, don’t eat shit foods. I’m guessing lower abdominal work outs would help?

I’m not sure I understand what this means.

I have been eating a lot salad, chicken, fish, steak, eggs, and tuna. I try to limit breads to only wheat if I’m gonna eat bread. I have a protein shake once or twice a day also. Once a month I will eat some taco bell or chick fila but that’s my one cheat day. I have heard that abdominal work is better for strength and not weight loss, I think if you have a lower body fat % they are more beneficial. But I think I am going to start doing them anyway.

I have been doing a lot of research on Acetyl L-Carnitine, Is that for all ages or just certain ages? I think I may pick a bottle of it up. I have been taking a lot of fish oil for heart health. I forgot to mention that I have been lifting as well as cardio, I try to hit at least one muscle group real good 6 days a week. For example I do 10 minutes on the bike or treadmill to warm up and then do five or six sets of bench and then maybe some triceps work. Then to finish the day I will ride the bike for 30 to 45 minutes. I think I might check out the body for life site you mentioned, I don’t think I have heard about that yet. I get in about 4 meals a day so I am close to 6 but have a little work to do.

Thanks for all the input guys

Acetyl L-Carnitine is a good supplement for encouraging the body to prioritize burning fat for energy.

Your program sounds good. I’d only say that if you work your triceps, you should also work you biceps on the same day. Muscles in opposition to each other need to be worked equally so your body stays in balance. If you do crunches, then also do back raises, etc.

I like Body for Life as it is a simple, daily program. In its conception it was designed to help folks lose weight. Very simply you do core work (abs and lower back) work everyday, and alternate aerobic type exercises with anabolic exercises every other day. You keep track of your calories and try to keep you glycemic index level by having more frequent, but smaller meals. You never spend more than an hour in the gym, but you go six days a week.

It’s a good program. It worked for me.

The best L-Carnitine supplement I’ve been able to find is this one: Carnipure .

Bang for the buck it beats Twin Lab and most others; I haven’t found a better deal. One bottle should last about a month.

You take one tablespoon first thing in morning on an empty stomach, and 20 minutes before a work out, and optionally an hour after any heavy meal.

It has more advantages than just fat burning as well.

Nah that is going to only work on the muscles and not the body fat. Best thing is to do cardio.

Started: 15.5cm x 12cm, Now: 19.5cm x 13.3cm, Goal: 21cm x 15cm

I'm going to reach my goal, and there is no one who can stop me! Yes, I'm a persistent bastard :D

My Pictures! I am back baby, and I will hang out with my wang out!

Well… it’ll help, in the sense that it will tone those muscles, and that tone will help in the overall goal of being in better shape, but you can’t target fat loss on the body; that has to be a systemic approach.

I wouldn’t limit it to cardio however; the body has to burn many more calories than it takes in for weight loss. Anabolic exercise is therefore key. You need both.

Have you considered changing up the type of cardio you perform? I find the best form of cardio that works well on my body is HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). I would do a bout of cardio on the elliptical machine of 30/30, meaning 30 seconds going hard, then 30 seconds at a lighter pace if you already did not know. Also I am a fan of the Ephedrine/Caffeine/Aspirin (ECA) stack but now do not take it because of my negative side effects with caffeine. Anyways hope I could help!
