I tried Jelqing about 3 years ago for 4 months with absolutely no results. I did it for 10 minutes to 1/2 hour in the AM after a hot shower. I did it enough to feel a bit sore all the time and had some micro-bursting veins on the surface. Maybe I was a bit less “retractile” while I was doing this, but everything went back the way it was when I quit. There was no erection length change at all, at any time.

I am wondering if this failure was likely due to extreme retractile nature of my penis, my advancing age (now 60), or simply the limited effort and some fear of jelqing with “too much force”? My flaccid often retracts 3/4” and sometimes (with great force) to “nothing” especially when I do heavy physical work like using a heavy chain saw, etc. My erection is no more than 4.5”, but oddly, my circumference is not that bad at 5.5”.

Anyone have any words of wisdom regarding the possible outcome of PE in my case? Are there threads on “retractile penis” phenomenon I should look into… At my age, I’m not really desperate about any of this (anymore), but would really like to understand all this better!

Mayb stretching would have been a more benifcial way to gain, after a complete warm up of course, I splash with hot water then stretch, and then rest and repeat up to 10 times.

Mine is different tho is around 4 to 5 fliccid depending on the conditions, and erect does not grow much outwards, but the girth swells right out from 5 to nearly 7 now.

Yours seems to swell and grow by about 3 to 3 1/2 outwards, so mayb stretching would have been the wtg.

These V stretching exercises I’ve been trying are disturbing both mentally and physically though certainly effective in applying stretch and easy to execute without tiring. Jelqing was a much difficult and tiring. I may or may not actually bother really giving the stretching exercises a fair trial; though my case would be an extreme data point that might be of interest. Already I feel slightly sick, like a “light” punch below the belt. The amount of tissue I have to work with is pretty insignificant compared to the videos and pictures. Apparently, my erection, which is healthy, but short is about 95% or more blood. My flaccid has little or no “meat”; kinda like an empty balloon.

I didn’t say men were gaining three and a half inches. But two inches, yes. Check out the Member Pix section.

And I did say this whole PE thing strikes me as pretty crazy. I’m not encouraging you to do it or that it’s beneficial, I’m just saying it is physically possible, that’s all.

Yes, I have very mixed feelings… Starting to entertain the idea again that it would be really interesting to be 1/2 to 1” larger…

Woops! On the other hand, I see Yguy was only 21 years of age… I grew, thickening considerably until I was 25… Probably should have been using PE techniques back then! Back then, I used liquor to get past my insecurities! Not good!

My reading regarding my “retractile” or “turtling” penis problem here on Thunder’s indicates that coffee is a factor, and a negative generally for PE. Dang! Every time, I turn around someone says I should drop my favorite beverage to which I’m addicted! I doubt if coffee is the ONLY factor with me as I ALWAYS had the turtling problem as far back as I can remember way before I began drinking significant coffee back when I was about 23 or so. Actually, I am normally “turtled” and completely empty of blood… Coffee, anxiety, heavy work can be said to initiate only the extreme distressing turtling when the penis almost disappears and uncomfortable sensations arise.

The post here that speculates smooth muscles deep in the penis (not voluntary) are responsible for turtling DOES seem to make sense. However, I don’t see these muscles in the anatomy drawings. I wonder how speculative this theory is… ?

Whenever, over the years, I have borrowed someones amphetamines to stay-up all night working on a project, the turtling was REALLY EXTREME so I am certain we are on to something… Now, here is the kicker: my mother was diagnosed as a “narcoleptic” back during WWII and was prescribed amphetamines. (Actually she may have been addicted to the amphetamines the military handed-out like candy for men on watch.) She took heavy doses of amphetamines while she was pregnant with me and later while I was nursing (and for the rest of her life).

I have never considered the theory of involuntary smooth muscle tension when considering the amphetamines in the past. Instead, I considered that according to some, amphetamines are a pseudo-estrogen! I figured chronic lack of blood in the penis due to low T high E might cause turtling as well as well as discourage growth. I know that my penis is OFTEN completely empty of blood, like and empty balloon. Maybe all this “works together”. Yikes! I wonder what effect Ritalin has on all the young boys using it.

Damn! I think turtling would be the least of the potential effects to be worried about with something like that. No wonder you are addicted to caffeine.

As for male anatomy and muscle structure, maybe do some searching. I’m sure such a topic has been discussed here in exhaustive detail.

I know mine turtles abit in the cold water or cold weather, also when I exercise or when I use to drink alot for some reason it did as well.

Their was a picture on one site where an 1 inch flaccid went up to close on 6 inches, so mayb is just genetic and not to worry about to much.

Lioyd I knew a girl like that too, I just met her the once and we got on really well, just after my company went bankrupt and I lost my company car as well, she worked as a barmaid in a pub out in sticks, it’s a pity we never meet again because I was busy looking for work and could not get out their to see her she was very nice.

I too believe there is something physically wrong if you experience this issue.

When at rest or erect, I have an average size penis, but if I run or lift weights (basically any physical exertion), my penis will retract most of the way inside like a scared rabbit.

I’ve inadvertantly noticed some guys seem to swing freely during running or exertion.

This issue is my biggest complaint with the size of my penis. It’s embarrasing if your playing sports or physically active, then have to shower.

Does anyone have similar issues and does anyone know how to overcome this issue.

I’d like to hear from someone that has similar issues, and also from someone that swings freely. What’s normal, what’s not. Is this a medical issue or is there a way of preventing this from happening.

For those of you that don’t turtle, does your penis stay the same when exercising or what?

Sounds like we have very similar experience with turtling. When using a chain saw or in awkward lifting, I get turtling with a powerful pull from something internal. Not really painful, but uncomfortable and worrying.

I am trying to understand if the “smooth muscles” in the penis have something to do with this phenomenon. I read that the smooth muscles (in the smooth muscle thread) relaxing shuts-off the blood from exiting the penis… Ok, that works for me as my erections are ok. But what do those muscles do most of the time when they are not relaxed? What does the “tension” in them do besides keeping the blood exit valves open? Anything that could cause turtling?

Also, do you also experience the flaccid penis at times completely empty of blood like an empty balloon; often at the time of turtling? I don’t see guys looking like that in the locker room, but that might not mean much.
