I have been PEing for a couple of years in a very unstructured fashion but in the last few months have designed and stuck to a routine (and the benefits are rolling in). In this time though I have noticed something about my penis and erections that I had never noticed before.

Basically what I have found is that when I get and erection I seem to get too hard too fast and this seems to effect my girth substantially. This is evident by the fact that my flaccid girth and erect girth are more or less the same, yet if use and okay grip at the base of my penis when about 50% erect then kegel blood in and clamp off with my hand, I have a much larger girth than if I have an erection (this is instant and not after 10 minutes of clamping or jelqing). My erections are always extremely hard but it seems to me that I am just not getting the girth expansion that I should be. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the smooth muscle in m penis is my restricting factor when it comes to my erect girth but how is it that when I am only 50% erect I can expand it so much further?

I am really kind of baffled about this and was wanting to know if anyone else has this same issue and if any of you have any theories as to what is the restricting component in this scenario.

This is actually explained quite easily.

When you have a full erection your penis is expanded totally lengthwise. When you have a semi, sometimes your girth is bigger because your penis isn’t utilizing it’s full length, so it has more room to expand outwards.

Same here! At about 80-90% erect I feel fatter than at 100% (my current 100%, I think I could get even harder) but notice I am slightly longer.

But you cannot fake a super hard erection. And I believe that being super hard is worth a good half inch or more. Women seem to love it when they get a steel hard cock in their presence from my experience. Anyway given time… and PE… I will not lose that girth at 100% erection. Then watch out;)

I have always been more of a shower and when I am 50% erect or more than I am already at my maximum length and up until about 95% my girth is actually more than when 100%. As soon as I get hard enough for my penis to stand up at its normal erect angle I seem to lose about 0.25” in girth and I have no idea why. I have measured in every possible way and it is the same everytime whether my foreskin is forward or not, so I have ruled out excess skin causing an illusion. It is just simply as weird as it sounds, my girth seems to shrink when I am at my maximum erection.

I’m the same way.. I seem to lose a tad bit of girth, but my EQ is diamond grade these days. Giggity giggity goo!

I am not sure why this happens either, but my guess is that it has something to do with the BC muscle. I think that when fully engorged, the pressure from the tunica on the blood vessels that control “outflow” of the blood in the CC traps the blood and the BC relaxes, causing the CS to be less engorged. I think that is where the loss of girth comes in. Even with these less girthy “diamond cutter” erections, when you are about to blow your wad, your girth increases again due to your PC/BC involuntarily flexing.

That is my guess based on what I have read on this forum, I could be way off!

I have read it and I can almost say that it seems both my Tunica and Smooth Muscle are limiting factors. As you can all see in my signature I have a BPFSL that is .5” longer than my BPEL, so it is just on the border or being a Tunica issue. I originally thought it was my smooth muscle causing the issue but my erections are about 8.5 to 9 on average and a 10 quite frequently, so I guess I could rule out the smooth muscle as the issue.

The problem is that I always thought that my Tunica was fairly flexible but is it possibly that my Tunica is less flexible when the stretch is applied in a girth affecting manner, as opposed to a length wise stretch?

I also have a bend to the left when erect so is it possible that I have a degree of plaque or scar tissue build up on the left side of my tunica that is causing it to expand less when I become erect? Even though to me this still doesn’t explain why I seem to lose girth when my erection changes from 85% up to 100%, it is like there is a point in my erection where everything seems to “lock into place” and has a kind of “pull in tight” effect.

Anyway, I am going to try to target my tunica for a few months and see if that shows any signs of improvement. Just a few quick questions though regarding the tunica, does anyone know of anyway to soften the tunica? What are some exercises that target the tunica in a girth wise manner? I am think along the lines of Horse squeezes and O-bends would this target the area I am looking for?
