Erectile Dysfunction at 25, please help

Hi guys

I’ve had some on/off experience with PE in the past, but my interest in the whole area has been renewed lately by a fairly long stint of erectile dysfunction. My problems started nearly a year ago. I’ve been to see my GP on several occasions, he did my bloods and everything was normal. Finally he’s referred me to a urologist, but I still haven’t been given an appointment date yet. So I thought I’d join Thunder’s Place and ask you guys, as I see many PE’ers started out with erection issues too.

Basically, I cannot get anything more than a partial erection, 60% max, and even that is very difficult to maintain. Initially my doctor thought the problem was psychological, but the thing is I do not get morning or (to the best of my knowledge) nocturnal erections either. Initially I tried a Kegel routine, but to no avail. I have also tried Cialis (the 5mg one-a-day tablets) and horny goat weed, neither of which had any noticeable effect. In the past I have had quite a few instances of psychologically-induced impotence, but always during sexual encounters with someone (not a pleasant experience!) I knew everything was okay physically because I could get fully erect when masturbating. Now, however, I cannot get fully erect under any circumstances, voluntarily or involuntarily.

I do not understand how this is possible. I am 25, I’m a non-smoker, I drink very little booze, I get 8-9 hrs of sleep each night, I do judo twice a week, lift heavy weights three times a week, and am generally in the best shape of my life everywhere except between my legs! Needless to say it has had a big impact on my self-esteem, confidence and mood. Oh, and I haven’t had sex for over two years either :( Any advice on what I can do to get things going again would be massively appreciated.

Tested testosterone?

Yep, testosterone was tested as part of the blood test. GP said it was completely normal, not even at the lower end of the ‘normal’ range.

Do you use any form of porn to assist your masturbation efforts? If not, I would try that.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I think that way only total testosterone is measured. It is important to know how much free testosterone you have. You do a lot of intense physical activity so T is carryed to your muscles; that way a small part remains for sex drive.

In your pants firt thing I’d try would be taking a week of from any training.

Generally yes, although on the strength of some of the things I’ve read on here, I’ve been limiting my porn consumption for the last month or so. Before that though I generally had porn on every time.

That’s a good point, I didn’t ask the doc whether it was free or total testosterone that was measured.
Do you mean take a week off physical exercise or a week of PE and/or masturbating?
To begin with I did blame it on being physically overtrained, but even after a rest week things didn’t improve. I keep thinking that being an otherwise healthy 25 year-old, the problem must be in my head, but that doesn’t explain the complete absence of morning wood, or the fact that the problems started long after I broke up with my last gf.

Sometimes you don’t use it you lose, it, that sex drive included. The act of actively seeking ‘pussy’ and getting it can helping to restoring your sex drive and boners. I only know because it happened to me too. I have no doubt there are others who can testify to this.

Take more than a week off from both. Severe overtraining can last several months.

If cialis is not working, there are only two odds, I think:
a) you have ED not responsive to ed drugs, so likely due to some illness or injury : but that can’t be your case, basing on what you said;

b) too low sex drive, so too low free T levels. In this case you are not excited either by porn, speaking with a hot chick etc..

You may have tied those feelings to your ex-gf and now with her gone, it’s taken your desire with it. This is mental. If this is what it is, you need to tie those feelings to someone new.

I agree that reason a) is less likely, is it somehow possible I could have been injured down there and not known about it (I.e. No pain, blood in urine/semen etc)? I do admit that I don’t have a particularly high libido, but I always just assumed this was the way I am. Weirdly though, when I was on holiday in East Africa back in August I felt like I had a much higher libido, and my ED seemed to improve markedly. It felt a bit like being a teenager again! But this was no de-stressing holiday, I was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and enduring altitude sickness and forcing down pretty nasty food despite having hardly any appetite. Obviously I wasn’t in the mood to do anything with my cock other than pee out of it! When I got back home to the UK things deteriorated to how they had been before the trip within a couple of days. That made me wonder whether there was something in my diet that was causing it? But I’ve never seen or heard of food types causing ED, except obviously in the sense that a crappy diet will eventually clog your blood vessels no matter who you are.

Although I was crazy about my ex at the time, and she was smoking hot, I did get fully over her after we split. My problems started many months after we had gone our separate ways. She did make a brief re-appearance in my life late last year and messed with my head some more, but of course that was way after my problems had already started.

It’s always worth checking, because alot of times this stuff is purely mental.

Do you go out of home often? Do you take sunlight enough? It could be a vitamin D or E deficiency.

Don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not a shrink but it sounds like some sort of depression. You did an African excursion that kept your mind off of the baggage and felt like a teenager? Did this include the old morning wood or an spontaneous erection at any point? If you were better and you were even more physically active with strenuous activity one would not expect it to be your free T causing your problem.
