ED at 19

Okay, so I’m 19 years old, about a year ago I had a bad relationship end so I swore off girls, since then I started watching quite a lot of porn. Recently I started dating someone again (which is why this has even became a problem) and I would like to start getting serious with her, but I can’t get a hard on like I used to be able to (unless I’m watching porn but even then it’s not as hard as it used to be), morning wood has pretty much gone away and when it is there it’s more like a morning limp lol. I did do some PE a year ago for around a month but other then that nothing. Is this porn addiction or what? Advice please!

I would advise the following: cut down on the porn for now so you feel more excited with your girlfriend and focus on the newbie routine and especially Kegels to help increase your erection quality.

I disagree with sta-kool I wouldn’t rush straight to a doctor. Simply because you do not have morning wood is not an indication of a physical problem, although it is kind of concerning to not have it at your age. I am 20 and plenty of times I wake up without morning wood, although since starting PE and detoxing from porn I have never woken up without it. I would do as Uncas said and avoid watching porn for awhile, it could just be that porn turns you on more than the real thing does. That happens to people, so just relax and focus some stretching, jelqing, and kegels to see if you can improve your EQ. Best of luck!

What’s the harm in talking to a doctor?

It just seems odd to me that a 19 year old is not having nocturnal or morning erections. When I was 19 I had wood all the time practically.

It is not going to kill him to get a little blood work done.

apolloapoll - Yes drop the porn! Best of luck I hope this all works out for you.

Where can I find the newbie routines? I haven’t been able to navigate this site very well.

There wouldn’t be any harm in him talking to a doctor, but I think it is highly unlikely that he is in need of medical assistance. Just differing opinions I suppose.
Dango your too quick!

19 year olds should be having diamond cutter erections.

So, I look at it this way:

If it was me, I would go see a doc and get blood work done to eliminate physical causes such as:

- undetected diabetes
- blood pressure/cardiovascular problems
- thyroid functioning
- hormonal/testoterone issues

et cetera.

Those things can be serious, better to know that you are ok physically. All of those things can be easily treated. So we are basically talking about a physical with some extra blood work (endocrine). It is seriously not a big deal.

How could it be medical if I’m not having problems with porn? If it was a physical problem wouldn’t it be all the time?

Well:

Please note that morning wood is a —->physiological process<——-, it has nothing to do with “psychology” or “performance anxiety”.

I am not trying to scare you. I don’t understand what the big deal is about getting a physical and some endocrine blood work just to make sure you are ok. If you are ok physically great!

Again best of luck, I hope this all works out for you.

What would I do? E-mail my doctor saying I’m not getting a morning wood, can I get blood work?

That sounds good -

You could email him and say you want to get a physical because you don’t seem to be having morning/nocturnal erections any more, and are having some ED issues. And that you would like to get your hormones tested at the same time. That you just want to make sure there isn’t anything physical going on.

I had a physical a couple months ago, I talked with him about not being as easily aroused and having an issue performing sexually, he said “that must suck, wonder what that is” and it didn’t come back up.

Apolloapoll, just a couple of things that will help you out:

-Stop worrying about this so much. When I experienced this problem, I ended up wasting TONS of time reading about the same information over and over for months. I was in a situation where I would wake up and think about my penis all day long and this for sure contributes to the problem. Let it go and live your life, I guarantee that your situation will get better.
-Cut out the porn. You will start seeing the effects in a couple weeks
-Cut masturbation down to possibly every other day if you are doing it habitually
-Exercise- aim for AT LEAST 30 minutes a day. This helps TREMENDOUSLY if you are not currently active
-Diet- if you are eating fast food everyday, stop. Eat your fruits, vegetables, etc. Eat things that promote circulation (I’m currently drinking the circulation juice in How to improve your circulation ). Drink lots of water, no soda.
-Do a lighter PE routine that focuses on girth, and cut back if you are getting negative PIs. Maybe just a light jelq routine until the problem goes away.

In the meantime, I see no harm in going to the doctor, especially if you have insurance. There’s no dying reason to, but there’s no reason not to as well and it will help you sleep at night. Good luck!
