Drink Lots of Water !!

Yes I no, You’ve all heard this one before !!

I never really took this too seriously, then about 3 weeks ago I started drinking on average 6-8 glasses of water per day. In the same time I stopped drinking (or cut down considerably) pop and juices. I’ve noticed a few pounds fall off as well as I feel much healthier, more energy etc, etc, Even PE’ing has become a little easier. By no means am I a doctor, but I definitely recommend each and everyone one of you to try this “experiment” for at least 4 weeks and posts any/all comments.

Water is fantastic for you.

It helps fill your cells, help digestion, and help give your body a balance.

It helps with lethargy and focus also.

Even diet sodas aren’t good for you. Recently, I have started drinking water exclusively at every meal and keep a bottle/jug with me at all times and take a pull off of it and it does help you lose excess water weight also.

I stopped drinking caffeine (and thus, a good deal of drinks, save for lemonaid and grapejuice) about two months ago due to an inabilty to sleep. It’s really given me a boost, although I haven’t lost weight I do feel healither.

Water is great. Around this neck of the woods they sell Polar Seltzer water in 12oz. cans. This is pure carbonated water. No salt, surgars, or calories. But you have the conveience of a soda pop and a little fizz.

Don’t confuse seltzer with club or mineral water. They have a ton of salt in them. Read the label.

BUUUUMP, because I think it is important for newbies to read. Kidneystones run in my family so I drink about a gallon to a gallon and a half a day. During December, with all the holiday’s I really cut down on my water intake. Consequently that is when I started PE. Once I realized I wasn’t drinking enough water I started making a conscious effort to get back to “normal”. I am now back up to my gallon and a half a day and MAN what a difference it makes. PE is soooo much better when properly hydrated.

I would say until you start getting bloated and gassy.

Depends on your daily activities phil76. My cousin is up to about 3 gallons a day. But he is EXTREMELY active. He works in construction, plays sports and does weight training. I am a network admin, but I do weight train and play a lot of sports, so I drink a little less.


I would just like to point this out to you guys, DON’T DRINK DIET COKE OR OTHER DIET SOFT DRINKS!!!

My friend went quit drinking everything, beer, pop. juices. drinks nothing but water now and lost 50 pounds.

For what its worth, I am a student nurse and we had to do a food study in our nutrition class. I figured out that I ingested on average, >5000 calories per day. Wanna take a guess at what percentage of that was pop and beer? Over half. In a wendys triple combo (a number 3) the biggie sized dr. pepper has more calories than the triple decker sandwich. Pretty nutso huh. Not to mention the meal has about 3 times the total amount of salt you need in a day. If you really want to see some crazy numbers, keep a diary of what you eat and how much you eat every day. Eat normal, and write down the amount of calories, protiens, sodium, fats, sat fats, and carbohydrates you eat per day. I bet you will be VERY shocked, as I was.

Careful not to drink too much, lest you lose vital minerals and vitamins through urination. And of course, the big trouble with water - as it has been in all times - is how to find the clean stuff, devoid of disease and noxious chemicals. Even showers, I’ve heard, are dangerous due to the absoption of chlorine through your pores. Anyone know a little more about this?

It’s amazing when one contemplates man’s consumption of chlorine. We drink the stuff up quite avidly every day in our tap water cocktails, without so much as a thought; but when a train wreck involves the substance, whole towns are evacuated and everyone goes into panic mode. Very strange.
