It could. After a good workout (especially after I have been more conditioned) I tend to stay massive for a while. If I have a crappy workout or overdo it, then yeah. Shrinkage happens. Plus, if it’s cold or you start to exercise or something.

For the most part, mine does not.

If you go overboard, PE can cause shrinkage. Why? Because when your penis is wounded, it shrinks.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Or put another way, over-training can cause shrinkage.

Take it easy, there’s no need to hurry. You will have your penis a long time. And hurrying doesn’t really work anyway.

Thanks alot those articles helped ALOT! Anyways, I also think that my EQ is decreasing because my sleeping patterns for the past week has been off-beat on top of my weight lifting and cardio workouts. The reason why I actually posted this was due to the fact that I measure 0.1 to 0.2 inches smaller than usual which is concerning me.

If you’re a newb, ditch the ruler for now. Pay attention to your PIs and how your body responds. The only reason I would recommend measuring at the moment is learning good measuring technique. I’m paying for it, as I’m about 6 months into PE and I have no clue my real starting stats. I know I’ve grown just don’t know by how much.

I used to get shrinkage after serious workouts. But then I discovered that if I masturbate (or otherwise ejaculate) shortly after the workout that my flaccid stays fuller and longer. I also continue with firegoat rolls, massage and mild stretching through the day which helps as well. My theory is that this helps maintain circulation to speed the healing, and the expansion to help me heal a bit bigger. ;-)

I just read your post, and just thought to myself, “that is so god damn true”. What is the use of measuring size when variation of growth during the newbie stages are unpredictable and sporadic at best. Thanks a lot for your advice!

You read my post wrong then. I intended to address the TEMPORARY shrinkage after my hanging sessions.

If you are hanging and you experience shriveling and hardness after a session, it means you are deforming your tissues. This is a good thing.


Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

I’m not sure I agree with that. Shriveling and hardness are negative PI’s.

Well, I’m more inclined to agree with Bib than others opinions. After a good hanging session, the shrinkage/shriveling are signs that you have successfully deformed collagenous tissues. By hardness, I’m not referring to stiffness, but a semi tough feeling, shriveled unit means you have hung enough to deform tissue. Typically after a set or two, my unit is actually better looking - longer. As I continue on, my unit begins to shrivel because I am deforming tissue. This is what people call turtling, but it’s not a bad thing.

Long term: Eventually your penis will grow, or you’re doing something wrong.

Short term: Immediately after a workout? Based on my personal experience, my penis gets and stays thicker and longer for at least several hours. Make sure you’re doing a good warm-up/ warm-down, kegels, and at least light jelqs to restore circulation (if you’re hanging or doing anything else that pulls the blood out of your unit).
