Does being Underweight stunt penis growth ?

During my teen ages, I was a very skinny guy, my BMI at that time was about 16.5. My parents told me that I should eat more food but I didn’t have a huge appetite. Also I wasn’t very active for a few years. Today I have done some researches about the health risks of an underweight teen, they said that being underweight can slow down, stunt my growth, both in sexual developments and body size

It was definitely a shock for me, any thoughts ?

I don’t know for sure, but I have seen some pretty scrawny guys with huge cocks. It would certainly be in your best interest to have the healthiest diet possible for the foods that you do eat.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Underweight I don’t know, but being overweight increases estrogen levels, which can’t be good.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

Very good question although would rather see actual weight, height and age than BMI. Sounds a little like my experience as a kid. I wasn’t malnourished or starving, just like you, wasn’t hungry.

I was a very skinny kid and didn’t eat much. Parents and relatives would sit there for a couple of hours to get me to eat (to their standards). My parents even talked about going to a doctor for shots to “open up my appetite”. Really think I was fine, but it wasn’t till joining the track team at age 15 and then playing soccer at the same time that my growth began. I was a long distance runner plus played center mid-field. Really think that’s when my puberty really kicked into high gear too.

Based on my life experience, have to say it has to do more with your inactivity than appetite especially during time of life.

CK I agree completely. Except that I ran and played football ( quit calling it soccer mate ) as well my entire life( started the day I walked ). I would wake up with hunger pains so I always ate breakfast. But would skip lunch sometimes without even noticing. My parents would make giant milkshakes of calories to get me more nourished but still I remained skinny through an odd lack of appetite or just plain kid distractions ( ever be out playing with your friends having so much fun that time went by and its dinner all of a sudden and you realize how hungry you are? )

I asked this similar question to a mod before. His response was pretty much what gprent said. If you are serious about your health now then take action.

Shit I’d venture to say I am still underweight. 6’1” and weigh 140 lbs on a good day 22 years of age. You tell me.

PatientlyGrowin based on those stats, yea would say you’re underweight. That said I’ve seen guys with sort of those similar stats by my estimate being pretty elite runners.

Getting back to the op, still believe that exercise especially during puberty would affect penis growth. At least that’s what I saw in me. Also completely agree with gprent’s post. Heard on TV the other day that 20% of kids and 30% of adult USA population is obese. Those numbers will be up to 40% in a few years. Couldn’t help but wonder if that will mean average penis sizes will be getting smaller.

Every skinny guy I have ever saw usually is well endowed.

I was always teased about being skinny. I had a good appetite, but was so active that I burned the calories about as soon as they were consumed.

When in the 7th grade I was among the tallest in my class, but later the others passed my up. When I graduated from high school I stood 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighed 115 pounds. I was 18 1/2 at the time. Later when I got married I was still 5’9” and weighed 125 pounds. That was my weight also when I enlisted in the US Navy. At that time I was 22 years old. When I finished my hitch in the Navy I weighed 142 pounds.

After that time I gained getting up to 155-160 most of my working adult life. Five years ago I was sick for several months. My weight went up to 179 pounds. Two years ago I changed my eating/exercise lifestyle. I now weigh in at 148, but I only stand 5’ 8” tall. I am 77 years old. My penis measured over 8 ” in my late teens. It now measures over 8”.

Mine is heredity as I do know that my biological father was well endowed also.

I was skinny because my parents didn’t take care of me not because I didn’t have appetite. In my teens I was 6’2” tall and 120lbs. Definitely lack of food will have some negative influence on your penis size. All my time I remember my penis was the smallest one and I’m sure that was because of lack of proper nutrition not to mention I wasn’t interested in girls and sex at all.

In country I live in before you graduate (19-20yr old) male students are supposed to have penis examination at 5yr old, 10, 12, 16-17 and 19-20. Those examination are obligatory so if you wouldn’t have them your parents would get fined or if you are 19-20 you would get into jail. I really hated them. At 19yr I had my last penis examination and I was so ashamed because my penis shrunk to something like 2 inches and examination was done by my neighbour who was a doctor and a nurse who was also my biology teacher . Every one was starring at me like I was a freak. It was 100 times worst than swimming in speedos in cold water.

At the age of 21 when I left my parents I started to eat and train and I have noticed that my penis gained in size too. I could feel the difference touching it with my hand. Unfortunately that was to late for my penis to gain some significant growth because my puberty was over.

So start eating, train more, get some extra testosterone doing testicles massage or injection and I’m sure your penis will grow.

In any country, that is a large penis.

I think serious and prolonged caloric intake can shift your puberty, but when it will come your final size will be the same. Being skinny doesn’t means necessarily starving, I doubt anyone starving has time to think to PE.

I don’t know if being underweight would necessarily cause impeded penis growth, but I certainly believe that being malnourished and deficient in certain vitamins and minerals during puberty would have an adverse effect. I’ve heard that zinc deficiency in particular has detrimental results in penis development, but that once proper supplementation begins, gains may be made. I am trying to find the study for reference and have not been able to find it. There are several studies, however, that address zinc and other supplements aiding in blood circulation and penial health.

I would definitely check the supplements section of this site and start there.

Everybody is taking zinc up to their ears around here and yet I have to hear anybody reporting a benefit for gains. Don’t get your thought fixed on supplements or hormones, you have everything you need to grow inside yourself, and if there is lack of something nothing from the out is going to help.

Please let me clarify, I didn’t mean to say that taking zinc will cause a gain benefit, what I was saying is that a zinc deficiency may cause issues for growth, especially if you are Zinc deficient while going through puberty.

It looks like I did misspeak in my last comment. I cannot find any study right now that shows that zinc will cause any gains even if a person was zinc deficient during puberty; however, we have to eat to survive, and vitamins and minerals play an all-important role for our health and development. I disagree with marinera’s comment. If we want bigger muscles, we have to eat right and exercise. We absolutely have to take things in to develop, much less survive.

I don’t know any reliable stats for my country so I have to use my experience. Every time I compared to my friends under shower, speedos or during penis examination I was the smallest one. Of course there is some chance that after passing 21 years of age my penis started to grow rapidly.
