Disquieting

Seems every newbie post I read at the moment reports minimal - no gains. Would be interesting to see exactly how many newbies have gained (as a percentage) and how many haven’t gained at all.

I wouldn’t read too far into it.

I don’t see gains because I don’t expect them yet. I started on 12/5/11, and I have FORCED myself to NOT measure until at least a month goes by. The ruler is your enemy. Trust me, I WANT to overdo it to see big gains quickly, but I’ve completely forced myself to realize that this is truly a journey, and not a sprint or quick fix. That was no small task for me, especially in today’s societal norm of instant gratification.

I’m slowly figuring out how to incorporate PE into my life on a daily basis, so I don’t have to worry about it all day and so it becomes a habit or ritual.

Don’t worry about the lack of progress reports from newbies. A lot of guys simply give up, and some of us don’t really post that much.

Started hanging on 3/28/12 after minimal gains on the newbie routine. Still not discouraged! This game is 99.9% mental. Stick with it, gents.

After 1 month of hanging 5-6lbs BTC: 1/4" gain in BPEL and BPFSL!

There are so many variables in PE that many don’t get gains in a predictable manner.

I think that measuring too much can have a detrimental effect of your morale while starting out, and later in your progress also.

It took me a year to see an inch in length, and then nothing for the next year, and so I became quite frustrated and now I’m determined to not measure until summer.

So the word here is patience along with consistency, and check monthly if need be.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

I’ve got gains in the 5 -6 months that I’ve been on here. I haven’t reported any because I’d set a goal for increase before talking about it.

A-unit is right about not wanting to measure too much in the beginning. You want to just do it without the distraction of evaluating. I was giving myself the six month mark to see what progress could be made.
The learning process is a big part of it. You don’t even know if you’re doing things right most of the time.
It’s only been the last 2-3 months I feel that I’m doing at least a few things right. There’s a lot of trial and error involved.

I began to see obvious visual gains just a couple of weeks ago and decided to measure. There were significant gains!

I will feel more comfortable posting size increases when I feel I’ve cemented these and get consistent measurements.

Ya, I wouldn’t bother with PE anymore based on that if I were you. It’s solid evidence.

10/2010: ~bpe 6.2x4.8, 1/2011: bpe 6.5x5, 2/2011: bpe 6.75x5.1, 3/2011: bpe 7x5.1, 4/2011: bpe 7.25x5.1, 6/2011: bpe 7.38x5.1

My status thread

I think most of the newbies you’re reading posts from are guys who have been doing it for a couple months at most. The consensus seems to be that one or two months just isn’t enough to jump to a conclusion and get discouraged. SOME newbies see immediate gains related to EQ/circulation from jelqing, and immediate flaccid improvements from the newb routine. But stay consistent and stay positive and like the other posters said, don’t measure often.

I’ve been here a little bit, but I guess I’m past newbie level. My routines have been on and off because when I get a girlfriend or stuff goes hectic at school or work I usually have to decide between cutting back pe or gym to make more free time, and PE will always lose that battle. Anyways, my on and off routine over the past year has resulted in a 14% increase in length and an 18% increase in girth. Stay positive and stay with it, you’ll see your gains eventually

In the end, we are all going to respond to different forms of PE and have varying degrees of success.

For some the gains are early and encouraging and for others it is less immediate … but it is clear that this process IS effective.

Reading the experiences of newbies and vets alike isn’t a study of instructions with guaranties results … It is more like getting some perspective on how to develop a routine that you can significantly stick to and that works for you.

Give the Newbie routine 3 months and see how you feel and what sort of results you get.

Starting (10 / 2011): 6.50 BPEL, 5.50 MEG

Current: 7.50 BPEL, 6.00 MEG

Goal: 8.50 BPEL 6.50 MEG

Ditto. I see many posts from guys saying, “I’ve been doing this for 2 months straight now and haven’t seen anything….”

I just chuckle to myself when I think of the gains that have taken me a couple of YEARS to get.
