Diminished EQ and Over training

Diminished EQ and Over training

Hello All.

I am only about six weeks into training and I have noticed over the last few days that my EQ has plummeted. I can’t get rock hard anymore and when it’s time for seconds in the same day I’m damn near flaccid. This had never been a problem before PE and I’m wondering if it’s a definite indicator of over training, or just psychological issues with wanting to be bigger, or if I’m doing outright nerve damage to my unit.

I stick with about 200 jelqs per day and 7 minutes stretching. The stretching has gotten more intense now that I feel it’s really stretching out. I go 2 days on/1 day off. I also pump every now and again, maybe once or twice a month, to really get a jelq session intense.

The bastard of it is that I seem to be gaining.

Any advice?

200 jelqs could be too much for you. Take some days rest and cut in half the number of jelqs.

Thanks marinera, do you think the stretching impacts EQ as much as the jelqing, or can I keep that the same?

Stretching can impact EQ too, but 7 minutes are not enough to have a significative impact on 90% of guys. You can always start with less if you think that could be too much, though. Doing less work, hardly will harm future gains, doing too much is more likely to do so.

EQ is the canary in the coal mine of indicators regarding fatigue. If your EQ suffers, then back off slightly and see if it returns to normal.

Rest, diet and stress are factors with EQ. As long as you eat right, rest properly and limit negative stresses then you should be ok.

Regarding PE specifically, one can never be 100% sure that one exercise is the culprit if you are doing several. Lowering the general intensity of your PE should see things return to normal soon.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

 What marinera & a-unit said. Take it easy for a few days!

Pre-PE 11/11 BPEL 5.9 EG 5.3

Started PE: 3/12 BPEL 6.0 EG 5.6 * Current: BPEL 7.0 EG 5.9 BPSL 7.4 Nut Lgth 2.5" * Goal: BPEL 7.3 EG 6.3 BPSL 8.00

Mind over matter. All of life is transitional.

Thanks a-unit. High stress, lack of rest, and a smidgeon of self consciousness due to the fact that my girl knows I’m PE’ing are almost certainly part of this. I like your advice about approaching it holistically and taking care off myself overall in addition to some temporary cuts in exercises.

Yesterday was my second day of rest and it already feels like I’m back.don’t know if it was really that simple or just psychological, but I’ll take it.

Great! It is always good to hear when things go well. Happy PE’ing and good luck with the many gains to be had! :)
