For when I advance from the newbie routine, can you use a wrap instead of an ADS after hanging?

Yes, or you can use nothing.

Not everyone uses an ADS or wrap after hanging, and they still gain.

But for now, I wouldnt worry too much about Hanging, get what gains you can manually, and condition your dick before even considering Hanging.
