I’ve been very consistent with my training in the past 30+ days or so doing exactly what the newbie routine suggested with a 5 minute hot wrap before and after my 5 minute stretches and what is now 30 minutes of 3-5 second jelqs. I’m not sure if it’s a mis-measurement but according to what I wrote down a month ago, I grew 1/5th inch in erect length but none in girth. I was wondering if there’s any way I can specialize in girth without messing up my routine.

I had the same experience when I started. If you’re gaining, just stick with it unless you are really already at your long term length goal. I added squeezes and then flaccid bends next (but I would have stayed with the newbie longer if I knew what I know now). While your penis is giving you newbie gains, take as much as you can and say thank you very much.

I keep hearing about other exercising I can move on to once my penis is conditioned but I’m not sure where to start.

What is your erection level when jelqing? I believe the higher your erection level the more girth will be targeted.

I try to keep it above 50% but below 70-80%. I’m not sure how much pressure I should be using though. I got into jelqing pretty much completely for girth and erection quality so it’s kinda depressing to see no gains in girth after 30-40 days of very diligent work (never missed a workout). On the bright side I guess I’m kinda conditioned.

If you haven’t reached your length goal, continuing to Jelq would not be a bad thing. As jd10021 has suggested, you can continue the newbie routine and perhaps incorporate other girth targeting exercises in if you wish. I believe in one of the threads by the PE Veterans they recommend high erection levels for jelqing for girth, 70% and above if I’m not mistaken. Some have suggested 85% and above, given the theory behind jelqing.

I think you’ve gotten the wrong impression. Advanced exercises are not inherently better. It’s a necessary step up when the basics stop working and as such should be avoided for as long as possible. As someone just starting out, it should not be your goal to get to do advanced stuff. The longer you can stick to jelqing, the better.
Additionally, after just 30 days, you can not be considered “conditioned” for anything yet. Nor should you expect to gain much in such a short time frame. 1/5th in length is a very good result.
If you want to maximize your gains in the long run, stick to what you’re doing for as long as you’re gaining even the tiniest amount.

It’s okay to play around with the durations. For instance, if jelqing is getting a little tedious, you could take a week off and “deload” to 10-15 minutes and start working up towards 30 minutes again.
If you’re only interested in girth gains and don’t want to gain any more length, it’s also okay to stop stretching - that should not hurt your jelqing progress.

Patience is key in this hobby. If you absolutely must do something riskier, you should at least go through the recommended 3 months of the newbie routine first.

edit regarding jelqing at higher erection levels: On one hand, it does create an overall increase in pressure. On the other hand, it’s quite likely that the deformation of the tunica around your fingers is a big part of why jelqing seems to work so well. This aspect will be limited greatly when you get too erect. 50-80% is a good range to stay in.

Alright thanks for the tips. I guess I’ll continue with the newbie routine until the end of 3 months with or without growth. I’ll try to increase the pressure and erection level and see if things get better. I get the feeling not putting enough pressure is part of the issue I’m having. I’m probably being too cautious.
