Clamping Question

I have been clamping for a few weeks and really like it (don’t worry I am an experienced enough PEer). I clamp 3 sets a day every other day for 10-15 minutes per set with 5-10 minute rests in between sets. I have recently been experimenting with a second clamp at base, at midshaft, and right below the head. I get good expansion when I clamp, going from about 5.25 to about 5.5 inches midshaft, and my head really swells up with engorgement. I love the way it looks when it is fully engorged, I can tell that it is really as swollen as can be.

My concern though, is that after I pop the clamp(s) off, I immediately go back to normal size. My head shrinks back to it’s normal size, and if I get fully erect, even right after popping off the clamp, my girth is 5.25 again. I never get any post-clamp discoloration either. I know that Big Girtha, who seems to be the clamping wiz on Thunder’s, talks about how his engorgement stays with him after he clamps, and others talk about how the discoloration and engorgement stays with them post workout, but this isn’t the case for me. When I’m clamped I get really swollen, veiny and purple, and am clearly significantly engorged, so I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. I really like clamping and the engorgement, but do you think I will actually see results if I don’t have any lasting effects after my clamp sessions?

Any advice/opinions would be great.


That isn’t unusual at all and it’s different for everybody. The longer you stick with it, the more likely the engorgement will stick around a bit longer. That’s still no excuse to over do your clamp sessions!

I can’t find a link, but I’ve read that clamps set up a bit higher are more likely to cause an injury. Just something to watch out for.
