Im sure this has been discussed but I didn’t find anything on a search.

How often do you vets think you should change your routine? In general in the fitness world routines and goals are altered on a 4-8 week cycle based on experience, season, and genetic ability.

I know lots of PE’ers believe in following a similar pattern. It makes sense to me to change the stimulus fairly regularly. I am about to change from hanging to pumping over the course of the next two weeks.

I am not refering to increasing intensity but rather changing exercises and routines.

FSL: 8.125

I’ve looked back over my logs and I’m definitely starting to see a correlation between routine changes and new growth. So, I’m starting to think changes in routines may be a positive thing. I think the tough part is finding the right balance between changing enough to not get stagnant but not changing too often where you’re not getting solid consistent exercise time in. I’m thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-6 months for routine changes or mini breaks to spur new growth.

It depends. If you are wearing an extender or hanging, perseverance will win. I guess the same is true for pumping. Cycling can work once you are advanced, so you have tried about everything and your body tends to ‘remind’ fast how to trick the stress, if it is clear what I mean.
