I find that just one elastic band digs into the skin after a short period of time. Hence, I find it more comfortable to wear several less tight bands at once which spreads the pressure.

Even so, remember elastic bands are not meant for putting around your penis.

There are fairly wide bands that the mailman puts around the mail that could be used for that purpose, but like all devices that constrict blood flow to the penis, they need to be monitored closely.

I find that those bands aren’t tight enough unless my penis is already partially erect, and then I reach 100% erect really quickly and that becomes noticeable.

Now that I think about it, any cock ring that would improve my flaccid would make me hard eventually and I wouldn’t want to run the risk of that in public.

Avoid thin rubberbands. Follow gprent’s advice and get the rubber bands that come with broccoli at the store. Those are fantastic.

I have severe ED and require tight constriction in order to achieve and maintain an erection. I have had good success with a 1/2 inch rubber band doubled over and stretched around the whole unit (behind the balls.) Requires lube in order to avoid pinching while putting it on and removing it.

I have achieved best results with an Osbon tension band from Erecaid. Also requires lots of lube.

Beginners, however, should start with lower tension cock rings in order to get their dicks conditioned to tolerate higher tension.

I agree. But in a pinch, you can use a rubber band. If you go on a trip and forget your cock ring(s) you can always make a quick stop at Staples and pick up a bag of 1/2 inch rubber bands for about a $1.

It’s worth remembering that they dock (cut off) the tails on sheep by putting a tight rubber band around them and leaving it on until the tail just drops off with blood starvation. :)
