Bulbocavernosus reflex

Bulbocavernosus reflex

As far as the penis is “connected” with the anus by the way of the nervous system, and it is proved that by squeezing glans of your penis you also cause involuntary contraction of your anus (which also always happens when you have an orgasm) I would like to ask you how do you feel this connection. All across the web you may find information that you have to squeeze your anus due to achieve great erection but the muscles around the penis are at the different angle that the anal sphincter. Here - at Thunders - most of us know already that anus does not have to work during kegels but.. I would like to think it over her. What do you think? Do you achieve better erection by tensing your sphincter or not?

There’s a difference between conscious control of a muscle and a reflex action from stimulating a nerve. By squeezing the glans you send a signal into the nervous system that affects all the muscles around it, including the anus. That is not related to consciously contracting the bulbocavernosus (BC) muscle during a Kegel. When someone is learning how to perform the Kegel maneuver they often cause the anus to contract at the same time. Eventually they learn how to separate the muscles under their control and only contract the BC.

What is the difference in feeling the contraction of the anus and the BC? How to separate them? What do you concentrate on?

The next time you have an erection make your penis bounce up and down. The muscle that makes it move is the same one you exercise with Kegels. The more forceful you make the contractions the more the other muscles will be involved, such as the anus. Once you learn what muscle to contract you can, with practice, concentrate your contractions in the muscle only. But it doesn’t really matter if the anus contracts at the same time. You’ll still get the benefit of the exercise.

To be honest, I can’t make it bounce up and down :D I can - by several different muscles contraction - “pump it” somehow while flaccid, but nothing “contractile” when it is erected. It can move up a book when I am lying in my back and the open book is on my penis (like Peter North) but I’m loosing the tension and the erection too after few reps. When I was younger I could get my penis hard to the pain by tensing it somehow but now.. It just seems that I have lost this ability. Any clues?
