BP Measuring: On/Under the Pubic Bone?

I’ve been measuring directly over my shaft when I do BP measurements. The problem is, I realized today that my ruler then actually slides subtly under my pubic bone a little bit and has given me some sense of "false gains." I think I’m unknowingly getting better at shoving the ruler back further to give me longer BP measurements, while my NBP measurements stay the same.

Today, I measured 6.75" BPEL (another gain), but just about the same NBPEL as before (actually, a little lower, just under 6"). That’s when I realized I’m sliding the ruler a little under my pubic bone to measure (even though I was convinced before that I would never do that!). When I bring the ruler up to my actual pubic bone, my fat pad is only about 0.3". My BPEL measurement goes way down, but my dick is of course the same size :-)

This poll from 9 years ago asked about this and it turned out most guys actually measure their BPEL from under their pubic bone (directly above their shaft) also.

I don’t think this provides true BP measurement. I know consistency is the key, no matter what measurement you use, but measuring under the pubic bone does not provide an actual consistent measurement, as it’s variable how far back you can push day-to-day. What do you think?

Try turning the ruler on its side then it will span the concave section of your pubic bone.

That’s what I do. No room for error.

And…some smart person within the PE community or industry should invent some kind of ultimate measuring device. Imagine…

* It overcomes the bone problem.
* It is consistent across the community
* It does volume readings
* It…?

The possibilities are endless.
