Are continued long-term gains possible?

After two years, about 2x1.2cm gains. If I could gain at this rate during next 2 years, I’ll be much happier than today (as I’m happy with my size now).

lil_fella, the gains will slow as time passes. But every month you get more experienced and know what works and what doesn’t.

Make reliable goals and surprise yourself positively.

I’m certain that you’re right about diminishing returns but, like IronlionZion, I have proceeded a bit conservatively after suffering some newbie trauma coming out of the starting gate. Consequently, I think I might still have some running room ahead and am encouraged by the surprisingly positive posts that have been made to this thread. Also, it’s clear that from my random perusal of the TP stats database I’ve overlooked a lot of you who have made consistent gains over the long haul. Finally, I agree that a positive attitude goes a long way towards contributing to gains. I have certainly found myself being somewhat of a defeatist at times but that clearly only works against making progress.

I’ve learned a lot here at the TP forums but have had difficulty discerning folklore from useful information at times. Like the rest of the content you can find on the internet, you just have to be patient and spend adequate time and apply common sense in gleaning real information from a ponderous amount of content. This is an excellent forum and the folks here have been remarkably helpful. Thanks again to all who have replied.

Yeah. Most guys give up after a while, but big sustained gains are possible. It’s not very surprising. Most people know they have to go to the gym to get a great body and know its possible if they stick with it, yet if you go to the gym you’re going to see a lot of average people there coming and going but then you’ll start recognizing some super fit people there all the time, because they’re the ones that made it a part of their lifestyle and stuck around to get results.
