Android 'CYCLIC TIMER' app for PE

Android 'CYCLIC TIMER' app for PE

My first thread!

As I’ve been getting more and more serious about PE I’ve been using the timer in my phone to time different exercises and stretches. Some of my exercises use different timings and it’s tedious to input different times in the timer when you’re in the middle of a set.

There’s a nice app on the android market which is really helpful because of it’s customizability. You can program, for example, a set of 8 different stretches, give them separate titles, their own alarm sounds, much more. All you do is press start on the main button and it cycles through the different types of timers you’ve programmed, letting you know when each exercise is over. In

It’s also very useful because you know if you’re over doing it or whether you’re being lazy!

Let me know what you think!

It is an excellent app … but it seems like a little too much technology for a pretty simple task.

If you are a technophile, I guess that this is just as good an application as any I have seen

Personally, I just use the 1 (Mississippi) - 2 (Mississippi) - … method. I can even do it in the shower (try that with your iPhone)

Starting (10 / 2011): 6.50 BPEL, 5.50 MEG

Current: 7.50 BPEL, 6.00 MEG

Goal: 8.50 BPEL 6.50 MEG

Yes I completely see your point, but I find it really hard to keep track by just counting, and this is really simple to use.

Once it’s programmed, pressing one button will time as many different exercises as you want and let you know when times up for each of them. If you’re pumping for example, it’s easy to end up with fluid buildup if you get distracted. If you jelq for 5min, stretch for 3, pump for 10 and repeat the whole process three times, it is very easy to over do it, lose track of where you are, and not stick to the program. Just my personal experience.

I’m sure there are people like me out there and I’m sure there are people like you who find counting and using their watch more than adequate.

This would also work in the shower as it relies on audible alerts once it’s started (BTW)

Great app! Exactly what I needed for such a long time.
