am i measureing right?

ok, im measuring girth on my flacid dick. it isnt pulled, just laying on my hand. i use dental floss , wrapping it arounf the shaft. heres why im asking. ive dont this prolly 5 times here in the last 10 mins, and its always a lil over 5 inches. i pull it tight to make sure i dont have a loop or some slack on the underside. and the floss is straight.
