Am I cheating when measuring BPEL

Am I cheating when measuring BPEL

I can’t find the thread (it may not have even been here at Thunders) where I saw this info, but I read that if when measuring BPEL, that you have a slight curve, it’s okay to straighten it out to measure. Is this true?

For example, I have a very slight, upwards curve. It is so slight that when I hold the ruler in the proper position on the top, pressed against the pubic bone, that my unit bends away from the ruler in the middle portion of it’s length, returning to meet it again at the glans. In any case, the maximum distance between the ruler and my unit at the most pronounced area of the curve, is probably only about 1/3 of an inch. So, what I have been doing when measuring BPEL, is to simply press the two together. However, it seems to give me a bit of an advantage when doing this, nearly 1/4 inch. This is about the same advantage gained by not pressing the two together but instead by pulling upwards on the glans.

So , is this cheating? From what I recall reading, it was not cheating to straighten a curve, but I had thought maybe they meant only a sideways curve.

This is not a contest, so you’re only “cheating” yourself, if any. Just be CONSISTENT in measuring. The whole purpose of measuring is not the comparison with others but to track your progress. Always measure the same way and you’ll see how much you grow. I’d also highly recommend taking a photo because when you will grow like half an inch, some time later you might start to doubt it and regret that you didn’t take the photo. But.. as some hilarious threads here teach us - don’t save it on your hard drive if you’re not absolutely sure no one will see them. You can post it in the photos section of this forums.

That said, I have not-so-slight curve left and up and I straighten it when I measure. Just pick a measuring method and stick to it.

Who’s your challenger? Do a choice and then measure always in the same way.

Thanks guys. I meant more cheating the principle of measurement as used by folks here, not cheating in a contest. Yes, consistent method is what I’m sticking to now. I measure on the top, pressed hard into the pubic bone, like I mentioned with my other hand pressing my unit against the ruler to flatten it out. I just can’t recall if I did that same thing when I started and recalled measuring a 6.5 at that time. Thats the part that is making me unsure I have gains, or if I just found the best measurement method for giving me the highest measurement.

Well I guess if you’ve read that people will typically measure by “straightening out” a curve, then maybe you can too if that’s important to you.

June 24 2008: BPEL 6.4 NBPEL 6.0 EG 4.6

I see people cheat all the time, here and on lpsg. I say, if it makes you happy, measure however you want. If you want to know what ladies think, use NBPEL, while standing.

Going for 6 inches of girth, wish me luck.

Well cheating is rampant on the net in general. Don’t get me started. Even mainstream coverage, for example, of porn stars, it’s not only wildly exaggerated, but never a mention of the measurement technique. I’m a stickler for accuracy in all things so it’s of course, very annoying.

It’s even more annoying because it causes men anxiety. When women say, “he was like, 8 inches,” even if you know it’s bullshit, you can’t help but think - “wow, 8 inches?” Everyone exaggerates everything: If a dude says he benches 250, he benches 225, if someone says they can run 12 miles, they can run 10… no one cares about accuracy, they just want it to sound good, so don’t compare yourself to what others say, bring it down one notch and then compare… as long as you’re not cheating yourself ;)

This is the biggest irony I’ve ever witnessed! :violin:

Fantom, this is a fairly frequent question. The best answer I have seen is to “measure it the same way each time.” If you’re measuring to track gains, just be consistent. If you are measuring to compare to the rest of the world, let your conscience be your guide. Finally, pressing your unit against the ruler to straighten out the curve is certainly acceptable in my mind. It is like measuring around the curve.

To be honest a rise in NBP or BPEL is a general rise in penis size!

So just take it as a positive and continue as you have been doing with what gave you the gain in the beginning.

Started: NBPEL 5.5 == EG: 5

Current: NBPEL 7.5 == EG: 6

Goal: NBPEL 8 == EG: 6

Or POSSIBLY an increase in body-weight.

Haha, fair enough, but I stand by my statement.

Did you mean a decrease in body weight? Sometimes an apparent rise in length occurs when you lose weight and it affects the depth of the fat pad. See, I wish I could “gain” by losing weight, because losing weight is relatively easy for me. Since xmas ,I have lost about 25 pounds and it didn’t do a thing to the depth of my fat pad, which is just one of the annoying things about my body.
