Alright, I HAVE to ask this

How do you know when you are stretching hard enough vs too hard?
I have a LOT of 9:00, and I have just started manual stretching.
When I stretch at the intensity I currently use, I get a burning sensation in my ligaments, and I have been trying to stretch hard enough that I feel that sensation almost to the point of being painful (maybe even slightly painful). However, it does not take me very much force to begin to get this sensation (probably 1/4 of my strength if even that much). Also, I am fairly sore post workout. I am only doing 15 minutes worth of stretches at this time, so I do not think it is overworking as far as the duration of my routine is concerned. Is it possible that even at such a small increment of my stretch I am stretching too hard? In your opinion, is there such thing as stretching too hard? Should I only be stretching until I begin to get this sensation and not increase the intensity afterwards? TIA!

Peace

Stick with the intensity you’re at for right now. If you feel a good burn in the ligs, then that’s good. You want to increase the intensity gradually throughout your PE career, but going to the point of pain is not a good idea. It’s better to take things easy now, than wind up getting injured later on. Good luck,

SS

I wish i could get that feeling. I get NO feeling at all and I pull as hard as I can. I do see gains, but I dont ever feels sore or feel a burn.

Usually towards the end of my stretching workouts, I begin to lose feeling even when I pull really hard. Is this a good sign?

popp, that might not be as bad as it sounds bro ……… besides, you are seeing gains, so at least you know you are doing the right thing. I dislike not knowing whether or not I am doing the right thing. I am trying to listen to my body, but I must first understand what signifies what as far as growth is concerned. I don’t want to pull too hard and strengthen my ligaments before I start actually stretching them, and at least you know you are not doing that. What were your starting measurements? Congratulations on your gains by the way!

rockinout, do you mean to say that when you start your workout, you get a burning sensation in your ligaments, but by the time you are finished, you can’t feel your stretches? That is rather odd as it is just the opposite for me. When I first start, I can not feel much burning, but by the time I do my blasters (I do 12 stretches and 9 blasters in the morning), I am REALLY feeling it (not necessarily PAIN pain, but a slight discomfort).

Superstroker, I’ve read a lot of your posts, and you seem to offer very sound and very genuine advice, and I thank you much for your advice and words of encouragement. Rock on!

Peace

Oh yeah, sorry about using 2 different account names, but I forgot the password for my other one. I can only get to it on one computer (which I don’t have access to) and that is only because I have never cleared cookies. :p

Another thing I have been wondering about:

Is it possible to have a particular ligament that is tougher than the others?
I can’t really explain what it is that makes me think that this particular ligamet is thicker, but it is something I feel when I stretch (just doesn’t seem to stretch as much as the other ones). Also, when I get an erection now, it leans slightly in the direction of that particular ligament which does signify (to me at least) that it has not been stretched as much. Possibility or paranoia?

Alright, I’ll keep the one I am using right now because I actually know the password for this one. Sorry again Thunder ……… not trying to abuse the forum by any means. Thanks for taking care of the other account.

Peace

Starting measurements? I was around 6.5” npb. Im not sure about girth. Now I am 7.4” nbp, but 8” bp.

popp,

Very nice gains! Like soon2b9 said, if you’re seeing gains, then don’t worry about the lig burns. Not everyone’s dick will respond the same way to certain exercises, but it sounds like you’re on a roll. So, keep doing what you’re doing.

rockinout,

Are you saying that you’re not having any feeling, as in numbness? Or are you talking about the ligs burning at first, then no burn at all at the end of your workout?

soon2b9,

Thanks! :) As for your question, I’ve got the same lean to the right (very slight), and I’ve wondered about the ligs being different; but I’m not worried about it. I’ve noticed that when I stretch down, I can feel one side of ligs being worked better than the other side. But it’s all in the grip. When I rotate my hand or move my hand around a little, I can feel different areas being worked. So, when you stretch, pay attention to your grip, make a few slight movements, and you’ll probably see what I’m talking about.

See, that’s another thing I have noticed. I can do a stretch straight down, and no matter which hand I use or how I grip it, the ligament on the right side takes pretty as much stress as the suspensory ligament, while the one on the left takes hardly any at all. I use a finger on my free hand to add stress to the ligament on the left side so it still stays relatively even, but I would still like to have some way of knowing if this particular ligament is a limiting factor at the moment.

What about stretching one side at a time to isolate it? Stretching down and to the left for one set, and stretching down and right for one set?

Yeah, I do that for sure. I had before I noticed this particular ligament taking so much stress. I was just saying that when I am stretching straight down that it takes almost as much stress as the suspensory ligament whereas if they were both the same length or both as easily stretched, the force taken by the ligaments on each side of the suspensory ligament should be equal.

Before I started PE, I had the slight lean. Now, it’s still the same as before (hasn’t gotten better or worse). But since I’ve seen some small gains, I don’t think that the lig is a limiting factor when it comes to gains. Maybe over the course of time, it’ll even out with the stretching.
