A question about routine

What about dry jelq instead of wet jelq in newbie routine? I saw the dry jelq videos, and it seems that are done with 90-100% erection level, can I do it with less erection, respecting the recommendations for newbies (50-80% erect)?
I want gains in length and girth, but principally girth gains, I’ve read that jelqs can benefit us with both (length and girth). What do you have to say about this routine?

5 min warm up
10 min dry jelq 50-80% erect
5 min warm down
