A jelq is not just a jelq.

I thought I had hit a plateau.

Then I realized that for some reason I had changed from a downward angle jelq to straight and sometimes upward stroke.

When I went back to the down (as much as possible given the erection level, which needs to be on the low side), I could tell right away that I was back on track.

Jelqing is indeed “deceptively simple” as explained in the primer.

I am posting this thread in case it might help others.

Any thoughts or experiences?

I feel like jelqing in a downward angle is best. It’s the only way I’ve ever done it. Just feels like the natural motion. I couldn’t imagine going up.. Unless I had an erection I guess.

I just do it straight out or sometimes a bit upwards. It doesn’t matter which way, the gains will come.

I do it the same way as aom91. Either straight out or upwards. Never done a downwards jelq.

Overhand down, underhand up is the way I do it.

I thought that the angle you jelqed at was dependant on your LOT (if you believe in LOT)?

No - LOT was/is realted to angle of hanging/stretching; jelqing works by moving blood around the penis. LOT was based upon assumptions about stretching ‘ligs’.

Yes. Jelqing the penis upwards, like towards the head or downwards towards the floor or feet.

If I am in high erection jelq then I use the upward jelq, if I have a low erection I use the downward jelq.

Same here, I also jelq to the left and to the right as well.

I don’t really think it matters, but I’m only a newbie so my opinion doesn’t count for much.

Jelqing direction shouldn’t really matter for girth as long as you get the expansion. I feel downward jelqs gives me the best “stretch” and targets my ligs.
