3 seconds per Jelq stroke?

3 seconds per Jelq stroke?

I take much less than 3 seconds to stroke from base to glans, as my shaft is quite short and not much distance to move.

Do you stroke the glans as well? (I don’t as it is rather painful).

What about the rest?

Try slowing down the strokes so that they do take 3 seconds per Jelq. As for the glans part, I think you’re just supposed to go up TO it, meaning that you stop right at the start of it.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Longer is better, but is there any upper time limit to the jelq before it becomes pointless to go any further?

As long as you are creating pressure in front of the jelqing hand by pushing blood down the shaft and expanding the Corpus Cavernosum and Spongiosum you can go as slowly as you like. If you go too slow you will feel the pressure drop off unless you grip very tightly. I adjust speed and grip strength to get the ‘best’ feeling of pressure. When people are new to PE they need a guide-line and 3 seconds is the established starting point.

I still find it to difficult to achieve 3 seconds per stroke. 3 secs is an amazingly long time.

I could achieve 2 sec but this only when I continue to pull the penis when the stroke reaches the beginning of the glans. Stroking the shaft itself only takes about 1 sec.

200 strokes x 3 sec = 600 sec or 10 min

Can I compensate this by increasing the number of strokes, that is, do Jelq for 10 min regardless of the number of strokes?

I think one of the problems is that the skin of the scrotal sac joins to the middle, rather beginning, of the shaft. So there is too much skin at the beginning of the shaft and this interferes with the gripping and stroking process.

Another problem is my penis is too short in the flaccid or semi-flaccid state so at most there are only 3 grips-wise between the beginning and end of shaft, which means it takes only a short slide to travel the entire length of the shaft.

I’m the same too, I have a fair amount of skin connected to just beyond the midpoint of the shaft. I find the best way to work round this is to make the second grip around half-way along the shaft, then slide back towards the sac (without squeezing!) to slide all the skin back, then grip and jelq. Takes a bit of practise but becomes second nature in time.

I’m sure this is common too; remember, you normally should be trying to jelq at/above 50% erect. Try getting slightly more erect first. Also, I stretch before I jelq in order to maximise my accessible shaft length, plus I grip as close to my body as possible (also assisted by the aforementioned slide-the-skin approach). Plus, for me I stretch at the end of each jelq stroke to keep the accessible length maximised.

Stick with it, I think I can honestly say it has taken me at least a couple of months to work out how to jelq effectively and no doubt I’ll improve my technique further in the future.

Losthorizon, I wouldn’t worry too much about the total number of strokes, so much as the total time your penis is ‘under load’ from the jelqing. If you manage to reach the point where your penis feels it’s ‘had enough’, that is the optimum time on any day regardless of number of stokes or time!

Try keraunophile’s method above, it works for me too. As he says, you will continually refine your method until you find one that ‘feels’ right.

I aim to maintain about a 70% erection, but anything between 50% and 80% will allow the maximum benefits from jelqing.
