2 On : 1 Off Versus 5 On : 2 Off?

2 On : 1 Off Versus 5 On : 2 Off?

This is probably a pretty straightforward question and could make a decent poll.

I figure there are a number of people doing the Newbie Routine so this is my question.

How many of you are doing 2 on, 1 off versus 5 on, 2 off?

Did you decide which one you would use before you started or did you decide based upon PI?

Did you change based on how long you have been doing the routine?

5:2 seems like it will kick it up a notch.

If it wasn’t PI how did you make the choice?

I’m almost a month in (2 on: 1 off) but in reality only 3 weeks due to interruptions and other issues but was considering trying 5:2 if things looked good after an actual month.

Thanks for any inputs and thoughts.

Routine:
10 min rice bag
10 min stretch
10 min wet jelque
10 min warm down and shower
2 min fowfering(fowferring)??

Well, that is 2 of many variations I have tried. Right now I am doing every other day. (1 on, 1 off)

So far, this is working very well for me. It is different for everyone, so don’t be afraid to change things up to find the one that works best for you.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Ultimately, really listen to your dick and note your PI‘s. Your body will give you better feedback than anyone could. Both your strategies sound smart though!

Many past PEers (as in peers) vouch for 1 on 1 routine. Is it more effective ? There is a practice among hangers to hang everyday.

What he said. I’ve tried many variations with a “less is more” ideology eventually winning me over once my newbie enthusiasm waned. Seems like intensity has to be just enough to provoke your body’s response while not overworking your unit which can impede or even shut down progress. Can be tricky to finesse, but experience is a great teacher & guide as long as we remain calm, patient & curious.

I’m putting the “less is more” approach to the test in 2019 and doing 1 day on, 2 days off (jelqing, manual stretches & some Fowler’s on PE day’s only) for a 3 week period after which I will do nothing whatsoever for 10 weeks (based on my hunches on how IPR protocols may work for me). Rinse & repeat until 2020. Fortunately PE has become a hobby (rather than the obsession it started out as) now that I’ve personally experienced some gains and this year’s approach may or may not work which is fine. I’ll have learned more about my individual physiology and contribute a little more to this awesome knowledge base. Enjoy your journey DaBears!

Girth is of no issue at the moment, one goal at a time!

I’m fairly new at PE, but so far I’m liking (2 on: 1 off) and my off days I’m getting feedback from my Penis that tells me I’m doing something correct but time will tell!

It really comes down to two things PI’s and your lifestyle. I am past conditioning so I now do what I can when I can. Following a schedule is great but life will always happen.

For me it was simply: how can I make this a part of my schedule.

That was easy. 5 on, 2 off. Weekdays on, weekends off.
If I think I overtrained and need a break during those 5 days I’ll take it, and if I do, sometimes I’ll work out one of those 2 rest days since I already took one, again depending on any PI changes.

I’m still a bit of a newb, but on the whole my EQ has gone through the roof and I often wake up an hour before my alarm goes off with a rock hard erection that is almost painful it’s so hard.

I started at 1 on 1 off for the first couple weeks, I’m still doing 1 on 1 off, but have found ways to get at least 20min of manual stretching every day.
I *try* to leave my dick alone on weekends, but I usually end up doing shower jelqs and manuals
I also reverse kegel and blow my dick up as much as I can throughout the day

I read thoughtfulgolds newbie stuff and decided to take his advice and went full newbie routine.

I’m kinda a “balls deep” personality so I have to try reign myself in, but I have just added more time tension etc to the newbie routine, due to my living circumstances /wife /kid I can’t exactly hang or pump so I make due with manuals and gripping the ever loving life out of my manhood with hand clamps, couple horse squeezes here and there.

I’m also a little over a month In and have the same interruptions that have made it rocky, feel ya man
I say listen to your body, if it feels right do it but take it slow.

This ain’t a race… That being said I’m sprinting (lol)
