What's the take on caffeine?

What’s the take on caffine? Why is it asked about when we fill out our profiles? Is it good or bad for PE? Thanks!

Some say that caffeine is vasoconstrictive. The Wikipedia entry does not mention that (that I could find), but it does mention that caffeine is a competitive inhibitor of adenosine , and adenosine regulate blood pressure by causing vasodilation , according to the article. However, one of the metabolites of caffeine is theobromine, which is a vasodilator that increases the amount of oxygen and nutrient flow to the brain and muscles.

I don’t know whether caffeine good or bad for PE, and why it is a profile question. In fact, before I read the Wikipedia article, I just assumed that caffeine was a vasoconstrictor and thus probably bad for PE, but on reading the article, I see that it is much more complicated than that.

Nice discussion Lampwick. I’d always just assumed based on hearsay that caffeine is vasoconstrictive, but it appears that the story is more complicated, as you say.

I sure as hell don’t know what I’m talking about with anatomy. But, coffee does help my hangovers as far as constricting the pulsing of the blood in my head. At least I think that’s what’s going on. :shrug:

I’m not sure of the effect on erectile quality, but I do know that coffee contains many acids that are toxic to the system, is a diuretic, leaches vitamins and minerals from the system, and is one of the most highly sprayed crops in the world. If you value your general health, coffee is best used inconsistently and in very small quantities, if at all. Tea or Mate’ are a much better option that still give a nice kick.

This article is fucking bias and lame. Not only is caffeine/coffee the greatest thing since sliced bread, it is totally beneficial to your health in every single way. Let us forget the fact that it can cause anxiety, dependency/addiction and hardcore crashing when you come off of it! Everyone quick! Meet at starbucks for an extra grande espresso so we can stay up all night and gain!

EDIT: What happened to drinking water? I have been drinking water more and more as of late and I feel 100x better than I did when I drank soda/coffee.

I had extremely high caffeine intake until recently and I never suffered any erectile problems. I also can’t say I’ve noticed much of a change either way since being off it either.
