What is the morning wood

Hi everybody,
I am wondering what is the process of the morning wood and in particular if it is normal to happen when one wakes up.
I mean, today I got a nap, I slept about 6 hours last night but I never have a very deep sleep, it takes nothing to wake me up and I never feel completely “rest” when I wake up but then most of the times I have a regular “morning wood”. So, today, after my afternoon nap, a very light sleep again, I woke up with a “morning wood” and it is quite satisfying to see it all works fine but what I would like to understand is: “is it a good sign or is it something going wrong here?” Should it happen also after an afternoon nap?
The problem here is that my flaccid is pretty small, sometimes embarrassingly small while after I wake up it is a little better, I understand I am maybe one of those you call “growers” over than a “shower” but I would like to know if there is a relation between the morning wood and the regular state, if I miss some rest and if that may affect my normal size.
I also have low blood pressure, can that be related to my flaccid size? When erect I am pretty average but flaccid..

It’s a good sign that everything is working properly. It slows down as you get older!

Might be worth trying the search button on flaccid hang. But it’s one of those things that cannot be guaranteed.

Your point about blood pressure is very good. I have low blood pressure from all the sport I do, and I usually don’t have the best flaccid hang…

It might be wortrh doing a :google: search on ‘Low Blood Pressure’ Some results, give the causes of LBP after sport as dehydration. So a greater intake of water might help.

Thanks petitfuan(looking at your stats, you have a good size btw), that may actually be the cause, as I often forget to drink throughout the day. I have never been diagnosed officially, but I am very tall (over 6ft 2”) and whenever I stand up from being seated, I feel very dizzy. This is due to hypotension, which I know is related to LBP. Nevertheless it is always good to keep well hydrated, and I’m sure maintaining a slightly greater blood volume would be positive for PE.

Of course it’s normal to have when you wake up. That’s why it’s called “morning wood”.

Just as a thought you might look up the drug Nifedipine. It’s used to help people with cold hands and feet (like me!) In the UK it’s a prescription drug, so there must be cautions. But it might be worth a talk with your Chemist (Druggist) or Doctor.

I find it most useful in the winter as my normal heart rate is a pretty consistent 60. (58 while I’m sitting here and it missed two beats. Goes up to about 150 when training but drops back rapidly.)

But again; do a Googlle on it and see if it can be of use to you.
