wellbutrin

Has there been any one out there that has taken wellbutrin and had the side affect of increased libido. I started taken this for some anger/anxiety issues and I have been on it for two weeks and and I think about sex 24/7 and my erections are rock hard and just sex is much better and it was good all ready!

I was just wondering if there was others out there that this did it to and if that side effect stays or does it go away?

I have no personal experience with it but my friend did/does and made similar comments as you have.

Maybe I will have to experiment with it? I am leery though as if I recall correct, if you go off wellbutrin there is some serious depression consequences possible. Essentially one can crash mentally. I am sure eventually things level out but hell for awhile?

i have taken welbutrion before on a few occasions Its agreat drug for energy good moods. I wouldnt think someone would take this drug for anger and anxiety as these are 2 known sideffects of this drug. Blame that on the NE uptake. It also enhances your libido through its DA uptake, wich is rather week.

Actually I just finished my third week and I’m doing great the only side effect I had was a couple nights of not sleeping but the side effect of increasing my libido has been great but i was just wondering if this will wear off?

I’ve taken it before and I also found the increased libido. In the beginning, my sex drive went through the roof and I got quite promiscuous lol, dating 5 girls simultaneously. I’m not blaming it entirely on the Wellbutrin, I’ll just say that my libido was high enough to accomplish this.where as now, three would be too many lol.

As time goes by, the drug builds up in your blood and the desired effects increase, however, the same goes for the negative ones, such as insomnia and for some, increased anxiety. I loved the increased motivation I had on Wellbutrin as well as the increase in sex drive, but eventually, I had to discontinue it due to insomnia. I hope you’re not as sensitive as I was to this effect. Generally, I’m sensitive when it comes to insomnia anyway.. If you find yourself in the same scenario, you could try adding in some Remeron in the evening. This drug is also an antidepressant, but one that in my opinion, has less sexual side effects like the SSRI’s do.

So the effects off libido being through the roof does not go away but increases. I had a couple of nights I could not sleep but have been sleeping fine.
In my understanding it takes about four to six weeks to get in your system. Were you on this that long?
Also I am taking the welbutrin sr is that what you took or the xl.

I’ve taken the old fast release form, the SR, and the newer XL forms, with my preference actually being for the discontinued fast release pills. Even though the drug builds up in your system over time, there is also the effect of individual dose half life. I found the fast release to feel more concentrated with a shorter duration. The problem though is that there was more of a crash with this form so I’d usually supplement a green tea or coffee later in the day.

Yes, increased libido. This happens to women as well.

Do a little research into Dopamine and libido, as that will explain it. Wellbutrin works by increasing dopamine levels.

After my mother passed away I went into a depression and was perscribed welbutrion and although it did not decrease my libido, but after 2 weeks of taking it I had a hard time keeping an erection and when I did get an erection, it was not very hard. I talked to my doctor and I was told that it was one of the side effects of wellbutrin. It’s true, google it. I got off that shit right away and decided to deal with my depression and move on, but I still had erection troubles. I started exercising, running to get that shit out of my system. It took about 6 weeks before my erections were back to normal, but took me several months to get out of my depression. I don’t recommend the shit to anybody.

it had this effect on me too one time i took it. but after a while it went away. most people will not get sexual dysfuntion from wellbutrion. theres a new wellbutrion with less side effects now. its called aplezine. google it. i never took it but if this saint johns wort doesnt do the trick, i will try it

wellbutrin actually screwed up my drive went cold turky and fell into a legendary depression spill

wont ever take it again ever or nothing else for that matter

The stuff is crap. Eventually you will not be able to orgasm. Better off doing the research on natural supplements that work better, have less side effects.

O.K. is there anything you can take anger/anxiety that will not mess up your sex drive or might help with it if wellbutrin stops working?
