Tissue engineered testicular prosthesis

At first I thought it was just a prosthesis or something.. It actually contains testosterone? Wow.. Anyways, nobody should NEED this unless they are victim of a serious accident or syndrome which totally inhibits the function (or requires the removal of) a testicle, or both.

Oh yeah, and I might add.. Testicles are like kidneys, in the sense that unless you’re missing both, a single testicle can fulfill the roles of both organs if the need arises (if one is taken out). So I’m really not sure what this is for.

I have asked this because I have only one testicle . Like other many that had cancer, born with one testicle , torsion , etc I had in the past a prothese testicle but the feeling was not great ,it was to hard and not natural feeling . So I had a another operation to put it off .

So I think for the ones that have one testicle and reconsider a prothese , this tissue engineered testicular will be a more better choice . Cosmetic as the function of it will be more better then the current prothese .

I only not know more about it and where I can get it done , so if anyone know, let me know please .

I’m not sure if anyone knows about this stuff.. But let me tell you this; I’m not sure you need a prosthesis. To put it bluntly, I had cancer when I was 20 and like you, only have one left, but I have never put any prosthesis in there, and you know what? When in erection, the scrotum kinda keeps the shape for me, I’m pretty sure it’s the same for you. So it’s absolutely not apparent that you only have one. I have had sex with different women and none of them noticed at all, even when they put their hands and fondled down there, or gave me a blow job.. I know it’s always a stress factor, but if you don’t even think about it, they won’t even realize.. This one time I even joked and told the girl after the sex (it was kind of a one night stand thing). She still had sex with me afterwards, after all, she had a good demo that every thing’s working perfectly even under those circumstances :) just don’t tell them before lol

In a quick Google search, I didn’t see that this was currently being done.

You may want to wait for a little while on this. There are some amazing things happening in the biomedical field to grow new organs from your own stem cells. See http://www.nyti mes.com/2008/01 … art.html?ref=us . Researchers were able to grow a new rat heart based on a rat’s own stem cells and the basic structures of a heart from another dead rat, used as a scaffold. It does not seem out of the question that they might be able to grow a new testis in the future in the same way, and it would be YOUR tissue that they would be re-implanting.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

The time between patent approval and actual availability is often very long, or never arrives if the original idea turns out not to be practical in actual usage. Sometimes a great idea just doesn’t work.

Here’s a site for a product that sounds to me to be natural feeling. Maybe worth considering until tissue growth is perfected.

Good point. The patent has nothing to do with FDA approval.

In fact, I suppose you could patent something like that without ever showing it was effective in treating hypogonadism.

Or anything else. :)
