Testicular cancer, losing a pelota, effects?

Sorry to hear that UFG. I also believe that there should be other exams you could perform before to be sure that it is a cancer.

As others have said, having one testicle shouldn’t change that much your life. For this guy instead, changed for the better

The doctor I am seeing about this is a urologist.

Thanks UM. I’m just hoping that there is no war to fight.

Unfortunately there aren’t too many other tests they can perform that don’t carry a high risk of spreading the cancer IF it’s present. I wish I could just have the lumps biopsied, but my Urologist shys away from it. I’ve had a few blood tests done to determine if I had tumor markers in my blood. The tests all came back negative but that’s still not definite. Most likely because if it is cancerous, it’s in very early stages of development. What bothers the doctors the most is the development of the second lump. Cysts don’t tend to reproduce or occur in similar locations :(

Gator see if you can be referred to a physician who specializes in testicular cancer. They will have even more insight and possible options than your urologist. Also, talk with your urologist about your testosterone and fertility concerns. If the physician feels fertility may be an issue, which I doubt as one testicle is enough to produce viable sperm, you can have your sperm frozen and preserved at a fertility clinic.

It’s on the list of questions I have for the urologist tomorrow ;)

UFG, the doctors did exclude the possibility for it to be a lymphocele/varicocele ?

Hope you best luck.

Good luck, Gator. This is an issue we all fear; thanks for putting it out there to remind us that we should be thankful for our health. Be sure and ask for a nice big prosthetic, maybe one made of brass! You can call it your trophy ball.

LOL I don’t want to get too big or heavy of a ball, it will make for a really lopsided sac, don’t ya think ;)

My surgery is set for February 9th :(

I also have to have some blood work done next week. Checking testosterone and sperm counts.

Yes that makes a lot of sense from what I have read, your doc is right.

Gator I think you are in good shape here, sounds like you’ve got a real solid doctor.

(P.S. If it were me, I would get the prosthetic testicle)

Well, It sounds you’re headed the right direction. Best of luck to you, and yeah, get the big prosthetic nut. Keep us informed, man.

Good luck man. I had kidney cancer a while back and know the mental stress that comes with that word. Even if it is cancer (which it likely isn’t) as you said, treatment for this sort of thing is pretty good nowadays. Also, testosterone levels can be supplemented if needed, so don’t sweat that either.

My status thread

Blood work today. Checking T-levels to see if I’ll have to undergo therapy once I lose the one testicle. I’ve had issues with testosterone in the past and have had routine shots before. Main reason why they are checking. Also checked sperm counts. Just loved jerking off into a cup. Not. Took me like 25 minutes. On the more comical side, it was the first time I had relieved myself in days, so I gave them quite the large sample to work with. Not sure if that skews it or not :)

Thanks very good news

I’m in the same boat except I still have the small testicle. I have two kids and my testosterone levels are quite normal for my age. I would like to get an implant to even it out but it’s no big deal right now.

Hilarious. Did they at least give you some porno for inspiration?

Or did you have to make do with magazines from the urologist’s waiting room - Car and Driver, Popular Mechanics. :jump blue:
