Strange anus/sphincter pain

Sometimes I wake up at night and there is this horrible pain near anus/sphincter , more to the back of it (opposite side to PC muscle). It bothers so much that yesterday I was thinking in putting my finger in there to see what’s going on, but I was so lazy I could’nt get off bed.

It happens like 2 times a month, don’t know.
Does this had happened to anyone here?

I’m 18.

Could be your prostate. Does this happen after taking certain medicines or drinking alcohol? Is there any rhyme or reason to it?

I mention this because years ago I went through a period where my prostate would swell and ache the morning after drinking heavily. Also had a weak urine stream.

No medicine, no alcohol, no weak urine, just pain.

Could still be your prostate; or a hemmorhoid issue. Get it checked out by a urologist.

I agree with what you are saying, westla, however one of the common and disturbing hallmarks of prostatitis is "referred pain." It could be coming from the prostate but be felt in the back, scrotum, penis shaft, BC muscle, or elsewhere.

Thanks for reminding me about that Avocet8. I guess I was a bit influenced by his age and felt something other than the prostate might be the cause. Either way, penewbie should get himself to a doctor.

Does hemorrhoids aches in the middle of the night ?
I had some cases of bleeding before, when pissing (shitting hehe), but never had any pain.

If I go to the urologist, will the doctor give me that touch exam? I thought that I was safe from that until 40 hehe

You probably will get the “touch” exam, as you call it. But that is hardly the nightmare you think it will be and it will give the doctor a sense as to whether your prostate is infected or not.

Could even be hemmorhoids, though. They can be painful (usually they itch, too). They can be either inside or outside the anal sphincter, btw. If inside, you likely wouldn’t feel them when you shower.

This is called tenesmus.

penewbie, "the finger" isn’t as bad as it sounds. Hell, if anything, feel sorry for the doc. How would you like part of your job being to feel guys’ prostates? :) See a doctor.

wow, this is the same thing i get. About once every few months i will get this terrible ache in my anus during the night and it takes an hour or so to go away, the pain in unbearable as well. But it only happens like 3 times or less a year, either way im off to the doc
