St. John's Wort helping my prem ejac (I think)

I can attest that SSRIs really help with premature ejaculation. I am on Celexa 20mg a day due to anxiety and my premature ejaculation problem totally disappeared. My orgasms are less intense but it really worths the while. I can now last as long as I want.

An additional point: If you don’t like the sexual side effects of SSRIs, you can take gingko biloba three times a day. It will lessen the side effects a lot.

I don’t really care about less intense orgasms for me. Having an orgasm is not what I am really about. I just like fucking and watching her cum and watching my dick going in and out of her. That is my biggest pleasure. Cumming simply releases the pressure for me. I can’t say that I love to cum. I know that sounds weird but it is my least favorite part of sex. It just simply means that it’s over for now. That’s it. If it wasn’t for releasing all the anxiety and tension, I wouldn’t care if I came at all most of the time. I do like making her cum though. That is my favorite part.

I would have to totally agree with VVC on this one. I get more enjoyment out of watching her cum, arch her back, and screaming in delight than actually cuming myself. Intensity does not matter to me either. I was on Paxil once and we had sex for 2 straight hours and she came 12 times and I could not get off for the life of me. She simply could not handle it anymore and we ended up falling asleep with my rod still in her. I would still be taking that stuff if it didn’t make me gain 30 lbs. Other SSRI’s did nothing for my pre-ejac. SJW seems to be helping quite a bit both with my mood and my pre-ejac.

I have only been taking SJW for about 2 weeks.

I really have not lost any intensity in my orgasms.
No changes in ejaculation quantity or quality.
My erections are just as strong as without SJW.

I am going to try a couple of bottles before I make my decision on how it works. I will let you know then.

Wow I am surprised that there are guys like me! I prefer prolonging sex and therefore am quite delighted with the side effects of SSRIs. To me, there is nothing more thrilling to be able to last and last. I have heard that there is a new SSRI drug with very short half-life which is now developed for treating premature ejaculation.

If you can get the same effect with St. John’s Wort It’s way better for you than an SSRI.

It should have no effect whatsoever on orgasm, ejaculation intensity, or erection strength.

It’s efficacy in helping mood varies from person to person; those on SSRIs should consult before going off them in favor of St. John’s Wort. It’s definitely much easier on your system overall, but those who really need a pharmaceutical SSRI should be cautious about switching.

As far as a cure for premature ejaculation alone, again it varies, but it can be quite helpful. Taken in concert with learning Mantak Chia’s multi-orgasmic technique can have you lasting as long as you like. And if you stop taking it, well, the ‘gains’ can be permanent.

I recently have started the St. John’s Wort experiment. I have onlt been on it for two
days though.

Does anyone know if Wellbutrin would have the same effect since it is an anti-depressant as well?

Keep working, keep learning

KEEP GROWING!!!!

Some of the SSRI’s are actually trying to get rid of the sexual side effects. I have been on Paxil and Lexapro. The paxil actually made it so I could not climax sometimes. Tje Lexapro did nothing or very little for my pre-ejac.

I am not sure about Wellbutrin.

I don’t take antidepressants, but I’ve looked at bupropion (Wellbutrin) for other things, here’s some info:

A study out of the University of Virginia examining the prevalence of sexual dysfunction among antidepressant users reveals that while the drug classes known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) were associated with a higher rate of sexual dysfunction, other antidepressants were associated with significantly lower rates, namely bupropion and nefazodone. These data suggest that sexual dysfunction may be related to serotonergic antidepressant therapy

Wellbutrin, the brand name of bupropion, had the lowest overall rate of sexual dysfunction. It was associated with a rate of 22% of the overall population. The sustained release formulation fared almost as well with a rate of 25%. In contrast, the SSRIs (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft and Celexa), venlafaxine (Effexor) and mirtazapine (Remeron) averaged about 40%.

When subjects were removed who had other probable causes of sexual dysfunction, the results were even better. Wellbutrin’s rate dropped to 7% with the other medications dropping to between 23-30%.

Funny that what this study is reffering to as a “sexual dysfunction”, prolonged stamina, is what most guys are looking at as an additional benefit. :D

Instead of advertising “Improved with no sexual side effects” they should be advertising “Great sexual side effects. In addition to curing your depression, also impress your wife with longer lasting potential”.
