Serotonin, PE, depression and motivation

Thanks again. I’ll check out some of those links.
kfarrelldba, I don’t really take in any sugare except once a week. And a bit from fruit in my shakes, but just a bit.
Really, the only reason I haven’t gone to the DR for SSRIs was because of what it does to libido. Mine doesn’t seem extremely high as is, the last thing I need is it even lower.

I’ve only taken 5htp a few times.
I’ve tried 50mgs at night.
Then tried 50mgs 3 tims a day.
Then I tried 150mgs at once one time.
Few days in a row I’ve tried 50mgs AM when i get up, empty stomach. I seem to feel ‘okay’. Doesn’t help motivate me any though. A lot of times I actually feel pretty good, but just can’t get anything done. I mean I’m getting myself into some serious trouble financially, and I really just don’t care. So I feel good, which leads me away from thinking it’s depressing, but having absolutely no care, or motivation makes me think it may be depression.

I’ve always been the type of person that needs really high dosages in supplements/medications.
I don’t really ‘feel’ anything from energy drinks and things like that.

Consider talking to your doctor about how you’re feeling as of late. He’ll go over various things and ask several questions. May also want to consider seeing a psychologist, I ended up seeing one for a year and she really helped me improve.

As for medication, taking any that either may suggest is totally up to you, they’ve helped me, but they do have side effects. I found that my psychologist was very skilled at pointing out where I can help myself to get better and actually live again as it were.

Hmmmm Hmmmmm…….

Murphree has people with serious heart issues, including Congestive Heart Failure, taking 5htp as long as a specific EXACT protocol is followed. Perhaps you should at least look at his book in some way? No, that would be too easy…..

The Key Theme in all cases is, what do I need exactly, how much, when (dosing), and with what (dosing).

Notice a common theme? Like a trade, just having the tools present doesn’t make you skilled in its use. Ever do a head gasket on a car? if you don’t know how much to to tighten and in what specific order, it comes out WRONG soon enough and one has to do it over again.

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

Drink some Green Tea. That shit gets me so wired and ready to do whatever. Do you do enough cardio?

ivandrago your post sounds very similar to my experience’s, its such a drain doing anything that i know i can easily do.

do you feel like this year round?
i seem to feel alot worse during the winter months which has led me to believe im suffering from

S.a.d (seasonal affective disorder) or/and delayed sleep phase syndrome

both are caused my low light levels, so artificial lights may help (not tried yet due to there pricing)
which would prob explain a lot since the UK and im guessing canada light levels can be pretty low from autumn(fall) to spriing.
ask yourself if you can remember feeling like this in the summer months

Start Feb 09: BPEL = 7", EG = 5"

Goal Aug 09: BPEL = 7.5", EG 5.25"

Depending on your age, your symptoms also sound very much like a guy with low testosterone. Testosterone decreases as we get older, and by the time you’re in your mid-40’s you can very well be considered hypogonadic. You should find a doctor who knows what the hell he’s doing with male hormones (most don’t - take it from personal experience and from many guys on the hypogonadic forum I’m in), get some lab work done, and determine what your total testosterone, free testosterone, and estrogen levels are. Yes, guys have estrogen too, and too much will make you feel terrible - as will too little.

According to the Mayo Clinic, here are common symptoms of adult hypogonadism:

“Hypogonadism can also cause mental and emotional changes. As testosterone decreases, some men may experience symptoms similar to those of menopause in women. These may include:

* Fatigue
* Decreased sex drive
* Difficulty concentrating”

If you want to poke around a site and ask some questions, check out I’ve been on testosterone for at least ten years. I’ll never willingly go without it again.

The doctor I use and recommend - and he takes online patients - is Dr. John Crisler, He’s actually not an MD, but a DO, which means he went to med school like an MD but then had hundreds of hours of additional training and instruction.

I have taken SSRI in the past and have never been able to stay on them due to the side effects. I have mild depression mostly seasonal and it just was not worth the side effects to stay on them. One of the good side effects I had when I was taking them is that it was amazing for my premature ejaculations. After doing some reading on here I saw that people have been having some success with 5htp I have been taking 200mg and 400mg samE once a day for 3 days now. My sleep is better, my mood is better and the past couple days I have been experiencing a delay in my ejaculation similar to when I was on the SSRI’s I have been able to wack off at full speed for over 5 min before I would last 30 sec if I didn’t back off. I can’t wait to try it out for real.

I am really making some progress with my PE workouts I have been waking up with full wood everyday, something I have not seen in a long time. I have not measured but I can tell I am hanging much bigger.
