Safe Sex Advice for Young (Newly) Single Man?

Long story short: Only been with 1 girl (my ex) in my life and after a long six-year relationship, she broke it off. Just like that. We only had unprotected sex. I plan to eventually start dating again. If I were to become sexually active with strangers, other than wear a condom, what else do I need to know regarding staying safe from STDs? I hear people contracting HPV from the slightest of skin contact-even with a condom (YIKES). Do people really use dental dams? Do I need to wrap it up for BJs?

I turned down the opportunity to sleep with a young hottie from a club last weekend. She’s obviously very sexually active and frankly, that scares me a bit. Help?

Its tough man I understand. Me and my ex never used rubbers. Both hated them. I still do, but now have to deal with them. From what I have been told by a doctor in the past, most men are carriers of HPV, but I don’t know if that is true. Sorry about the hottie. I believe that essentially, the better they look, the more the risk. I can’t say I have ever even seen a dental dam. I don’t think a blow job would be even remotely similar.

Just be as careful as you can! Maybe I am irresponsible, but I am willing to take the chance with the hot ones. I can’t do ugly chicks. Just not my thing. Some day though, I may pay for it dearly.

Exactly my thought at that moment we were leaving the club. Which is why I decided to call it a night. But don’t feel sorry. Single life just started for me and there are plenty of fish in the sea.

I certainly hope not! If you can give the advice, surely you can follow them!

I understand your concern and it’s valid. Rubber up and avoid swapping fluids, that’s about the best you can do.

There’s a risk but there is also a reward.

Cool. I better start PE again. I was getting ‘comfortable’ with my (Ex)girlfriend so I didn’t take PE seriously. :/

Get familiar with various STIs and figure out which ones you really never want, which ones you rather not get, and which ones you don’t care about. Then protect yourself accordingly.

Personally I don’t want HIV or Hepatitis. I want to avoid syph and gonnerhea, but if I happen to get it I can deal. I’m not worried about herpes, I’m assuming I’ve been exposed and it doesn’t really effect me.

That means condoms for intercourse, not for oral. I don’t give much oral, that’s the only way I manage that risk.

I am single and have been on the dating scene for a couple of years. Using a condom is enough. Okay, in theory you should wear full body armor to keep safe from diseases, but trust me - wear a rubber and you will be safe. I never got an STD, and I’ve had a lot of girls, some of them total sluts. And yes, I get tested.

Of course, if a crack whore with only a few teeth wants to give you a blowjob, refuse. With or without the rubber.
