Are there posts here that specifically reference length lost from prostate removal. Doctors tell you that you will lose .25 to .5 inch. I lost 2.25+ flaccid and erect length after surgery 5 months ago.. It made me almost an innie instead of an outie when flaccid. After reading quite a few posts, it appears I was about average length before. My urologist recommended a penis expander. It was hard to get enough to clamp, but it has got better. Have been stretching about 4 months.

Oh no, I feel so sorry for you man. I wish you the very best recovery and hope that you can get back what you lost.

So, you had to remove it, not sort of ‘ slice off’ a piece to allow for the flow of urine, like my father had done last year. (Prostate enlargement).

Best of luck to you.

Thank you Norwegian!

No, I had pretty aggressive cancer. The doctor said with the numbers I had, it was unusual for him to find it had not spread. The worst part about the whole thing is not what I expected or even thought about. Flaccid length has been the worst part. This may be too much information, but maybe not for this website. For about the first 3 months, whenever I was sitting, my glans was half submerged and it felt like it was trying to pull in more. They were able to mostly save one nerve bundle necessary for erection. I have actually had some erections since about the 4 month mark, much to the surprise of my urologist. Girth was close to pre-surgery, but not long enough to use. I have gained about an inch back, at least flaccid. Already had slight Peyronies curve from a tick bite several years ago. The X4 stretcher is starting to cause some discomfort the next day inside my crotch, making me wonder if I’ve hit the wall from my urethra length. There is no pain while using it.

I’m sorry that you are going through this. I think that I read an article awhile back in regards to ED meds helping to prevent the loss of penis size after prostatectomy.

I’m so very sorry this has occurred. I recently had green light enucleation done on my prostrate for Benign Prostratic Hyperplasia - non cancer enlargement of the prostrate. One of the terrifying things I’d read was loss of length, but my surgeon explained that in my case the interior of the prostrate is what was removed so no sectioning was required thusly no length was lost. He also spared the seminal ducts and the nerve bundles as I’m able to achieve and maintain as before.

For the uninformed - when a prostrate is removed they need to stitch things back together again, in effect pulling the penis into the body to do so. Literature says up to a 3” loss is possible.

Starting stats 02/13/2013: BPEL 6-3/4" and EG 4-1/4"

Now: BPEL 7-1/8" MSEG 5-1/2" (permanent gains)
