Prostate Cancer

A few months ago I went for my annual medical, the found a lump on my Prostrate. Went to see Urologist, who confirmed my doctors diagnosis. Had biopsy found that I had Prostrate Cancer. I had a Gleeson 6, PSA 5.4, which is considered normal, and a grade of T2A. I was given the choice of either surgery or 3d radiation, I selected Radiation. I start the treatment in 3 weeks.

Does anybody know if there is an alternative cure that works?

I don’t know of any alternative treatments, but my thoughts are with you as you enter treatment.

You have some time to think about his. Your PSA is not that high.

There are a lot of options and you should begin to explore them.

Here is a good place to begin reading.

Don’t even consider herbals and other methods. You have prostate cancer, Terry.

Good luck with whatever method you choose Terry.

Terry,

A Guy at the gym I go to told me he had Prostate cancer, and he selected the radiation thing. . He experienced some off days, But never was in the situation where he had to give up doing his daily thing.

Now he tells me he is completely cured.

I think they found a wart on his shoulder which they removed - just in case- , but again that was just a passing soreness.

Oh. and he’s in his seventies

Hope that helps to relieve your mind, and I hope you come through OK as well. .

Follow Avocet advise, please. Don´t go for herbs and other magical naturalistic approach.

How old are you?

I am 71,

I am also in my seventies, I don’t think my cancer is very large.

Terry:

I´m not a doctor, but have studied this somewhat. My father in law, at your same age has the same cancer. His was -initially- 1 mm long; which is minimal, in fact was found by accident in a routine check up.

The following is not a rule but statistics support this: The older the patient the less virulent the Prostate Cancer is. There are even proponents of the theory that if all men lived enough time they will all eventually get this cancer.

I am telling you this because I want you to be relaxed and sure that you are under qualified medical hands and supervision and keep this way. Whatever you do, don’t fall in the hands of herbalist quacks, nor magical surgeries in Manila, etc..

Strictly follow the recommendations of your qualified physician and his team.

By the way, my father in law´s tumor -albeit- minimal, all but dissapeared in a few months of hormone treament. He’s 72 now.

You are correct when you say that all men who lived long enough would develop PC. I had heard of a Dr Rath’s formula and a formula that he calls Epican Forte. He is at {http://www.dr-rath.com/us/index.html}

I have looked at other sites and have come the conclusion that if any of these supplements work the cancer hospitals would be using them to cure cancer.

Exactly!

One treatment option which is meeting with generally good results is the placement of irradiated gold “pins” (appx 2mm) into the prostate around the tumor site, and letting that in situ remediate it.

I have a friend (52 y/o) who had that done, and he is now 5+ years tumor free.

When the Big C is in play, don’t jump to quackery. Check out the site for Cancer Centers of America, as they have fairly good discussion about a wholistic model of Cancer therapies.

We are all with you, brother - hang in there …

This is my first post since my computer shut down and I had to change my sign on.

I have been cancer free now for seven years. I was detected early by the butt doctor, who found it first. (The spell check didn’t like either of the two doctors professions titles, so I had to got back and change to butt doctor)

The urologist decided I was too swollen to use the procedure of radio active pellets, so I was given a shot to reduce the swelling, which lasted three months, they was given another for the next three months.

The urologist and the radiologist both were doing the procedure. I believe they inserted 125 of the little devils. They kept me over night to make sure I didn’t lose any. (I pissed one out the next morning). Which they carefully disposed of.

I was not allowed to get very close to anyone for two weeks. I could not hold my grandchildren, or get too close to anyone for any length of time.

The procedure was fairly new here in Minneapolis, so new that my doctors were just beginning to train the urologists at Mayo Clinic the same procedure.

My PSA is under 1. I am now 75 years old. The only discomfort was you feel like you have a red hot poker up your but for about six weeks (which was a small price to pay) Early Bird
