When I was in early puberty (up to about 15-16) my erections worked fine with the girl I had back then. However, after that I suppose I only masturbated in front of the computer sitting down while watching porn, since I didn’t have any partner, so I didn’t really notice that anything was wrong. It was when I was 19 and got a girlfriend again I realized things were not working as they should. I noticed I couldn’t hold an erection unless I was immediately giving stimulation to the penis. Once I stopped, it would go soft within seconds.

I am 25 now and the problems continue. It is impossible to get an erection while standing up. If I got my half-decent erection while stimulating as I was sitting down, it will drop dead almost the second I stand up. Needless to say, I never get any spontaneous erections. Even when I wake up and I’m suppose to have my normal wood, the quality is at 50%, tops.

I’ve been to the doctor, they given me all sorts of tests but their conclusion is that it is all in my head. However, I am 100% certain it is not in my head, I can hardly even get a decent erection while stimulating myself, in fact, I NEVER get a good enough erection. Medications such as viagra and cialis helps a bit but it still makes my sexlife very poor. I need immediate stimulation at all times and I cannot be on top or behind (as in standing on my knees), or I lose the erection pretty much straight away.

Anyone who have experienced a similar thing? I would love to hear from you. Especially if you somehow managed to solve the problem.

Are you still watching porn? Take a complete break from porn and masturbation for a while and see if your erection quality improves. I’m currently on a porn detox now since I’ve realized nearly the same problem. I believe my strong grip while masturbating has desensitized me somewhat.

So take 2 weeks off. No porn, no masturbating. If you’re not getting turned on by any half-attractive girl, then we’ll have to keep looking for a solution.

By the way, what kind of PE are you doing? Those are very bad physiological indicators and could be a sign of overtraining. Are you strictly following the newbie program or are you clamping, etc?

Perhaps I should have given you a bit more insight. I’m not watching porn anymore (not done so for a month perhaps), I try not to masturbate at all unless I am standing (which is quite annoying with a very low quality erection).

My PE are just a regular newbie program, some jelqing, some stretching and a minute or so in a vacuum pump. I’ve been doing this for around two weeks, it may be improving my erection quality slightly. I cannot handle more than a minute or two in the pump, even at 2HG as it starts to feel odd otherwise.

If I had the same erection quality standing as I do sitting down, I would be content. Any idea what the reason is behind the standing phenomenon? And how do you counter it?

Take two or three weeks off without fondling your penis at all. Try sex again and see if its better.

I have the exact some problem. I’ll get rock hard very easily while sitting down, but when I stand up, it will be hard to maintain even 80%. I find is especially hard to masturbate in the shower! I don’t know what the problem is but I also think it stems from masturbating to porn while sitting down all my life. I’ll find that I have some trouble with sexual positions where I am not laying down. I am also very eager to fix this! Maybe I’ll try masturbating while standing more. Have you seen any progress yet?

It’s all about personal hydrolics and we all have different hydrolic limitations. There are many men who cannot get hard when standing up; also many who cannot get hard unless they are standing up. Others MUST be laying on their left side or right side, or flat on their backs, or sitting, etc..

Some of this is learned behavior. Some of it is just the patterns in which your own blood moves most efficiently.

For me I do best on my back. 20 minutes or so into sex, it will be even more difficult to switch positions without going soft. There have been more than a few times where I try to switch positions and I lose my erection entirely (great way to end sex). After that I wont be able to regain my erection either, which is a major drag! My erection quality has since increased after getting rid of my porn. I’m going to try masturbating in different positions, light jelqing/pumping, getting my fat down below 10%, and taking Cialis for the time being. I think my situation is largely changeable, so I’m going to work hard to fix it!

Today I didn’t have too much trouble keeping a 90% erection while standing, but that’s still nothing compared to sitting down!

I’ve seen some progress, aye.

There are quite a few things I’ve changed.

- Never watch porn
- Rarely masturbate till I come
- Try to masturbate while standing
- Not sleep on my stomach
- Doing PE while standing (including pumping)
- Try to do short pumping sessions
- Take cialis (generic) once every third day
- Take niacin, l-lysine and l-arginine every day

All in all, my morning erections are back, though not 100% they are in fairly decent shape. I also do get spontaneous erections at times (unless I am standing), which never happened before. If I edge, I can even get a fairly decent erection while standing, but then I must keep edging.

I sleep on my stomach and wake up with 110% erections
