No More Porn For Me

New member here and first post. Great site! I can’t believe with all the web surfing I do I have never stumbled upon this; I guess I was just never really looking for it. So much good stuff here.

Anyway, I too am removing and abstaining from ALL porn. I have come to the conclusion that you don’t have to watch porn for hours at a time every day to be considered an ‘addict’. I’ve never done that but I have watched it regularly for several years now since the proliferation of internet based porn. I don’t need anymore evidence whatsoever to be convinced porn, generally speaking, has few if any positive benefits and a trainload of negative aspects. I don’t have an addictive personality so I’ve never had problems with drugs or alcohol but with porn I can see how it affects you in the exact same way. Quite frequently I feel that intense desire to watch it and I know that is what it must feel like for any addict. And that is going to stop right here and now because I inherently know that is about as unhealthy as it gets. Good stuff here fellas. I’m in.

I’m joining in on this. I’m not sure if I’d consider myself addicted, but I can definitely tell it’s taken it’s toll on my libido and reality of sex. Granted I never searched for hardcore stuff, stayed strictly on amateur real couple stuff (so I didn’t have to see a baby arm dick beating the insides of some poor girl with daddy issues). I’m also abstaining from masturbation which will be very difficult as I have a lot of alone time from the wife on the weekends and what does a guy do when he’s bored? I’ll have to find a new hobby :/

My progress thread - My path to a larger healthy piece

I consider that I am not addicted to porn but I like to watch it when I am horny and want to jerk off. As a single person it is very common to masturbate at any time.

We I also discovered that I spend lot of time giving me pleasure to the point of feel discomfort in my dick. I spent hours in front of my computer watching all kind of videos because I did not find interesting the ones I love to watch.

Como on boys we know that we can rub our-self at any time and it is great. Now with the internet and video chats you can have fun whenever you want. However there are other important activities in life that might differ from person to person. I am not going to say that I will be out of porn or masturbation completely but I will be lowering the time I spend on it

Hi Twizzted, Fitguy and Mayorcito,

two weeks have pass since your post. How does it go with your wish to stop porn? Mayorcito your not a porn addict but I’m am! And stoping is the hardest thing ever I have to do it that life. Anyway, today I already watch too much… so my first day without porn will be tomorrow. One day at a time.
(And I feel like shit right now ‘cause my addiction…)

I’m a porn addict. I have a ridiculously hot wife and still sometimes choose to fake that I’m tired so I can go beat off instead of having sex with her. That’s just pathetically sad.

When I abstain from porn, my EQ is much better, my mood is consistently brighter, and I have more motivation. My sex life is also much better. When I am engaging in porn use consistently, I feel the pressing weight on my attitude, psyche, and libido.

I have to say, at 30 years old I just read the first post on this thread and can freely admit that since I was 14 or so I don’t believe I have gone a week without viewing porn.
My EQ, and ease of me getting hard, sucks most of the time. I’m really quite sure that porn is a problem for me. I have seen the posts saying ‘faking tired so I can go beat it’ and I hear myself in that. I even began having to try and ‘talk up’ countless random girls on hookup sights to try and solicit pictures, because the online photos weren’t doing it anymore. I have low self confidence, zero friends (couldn’t even get anyone to hang out on my birthday) aside from my wife.

I’m going to end up giving quitting a try for a while.

I did a no PMO for 90 days thing. It was alright, but not as life altering as some make it out to be. But maybe it was for them, it just was not that big of a deal for me, besides for always being horny. Which is to be expected.

I’m summoning the courage to ask a question of the straight guys who watch a lot of porn… .

(And if this has been canvassed before, I apologise… … . It’s nearly two years since I have logged onto T-P, and have become a porn addict self, with my “erections on demand”, following my inflatable penis AMS implant, 2 years ago. The cock is always up for it… … .So to speak… … .)

The question is, Has all that porn made you look at men differently ?

Please, I am serious, don’t write this off as a gay man’s fantasy.

I just don’t seriously know how you could look at so much cock and not at least some start to be be turned on by it, in ways you would not have thought about before.

And, of course, I understand there are Str8 men who do watch gay porn.

At first, I don’t blame porn instead I blame myself for getting addicted to it.

Shill for penis pills.

I think it’s fair to say that ‘porn’ - which is rather a subjective word - I prefer the phrase ‘adult entertainment’ - is not without its dangers. Questions of exploitation either of men or women to one side it is, potentially at any rate, highly addictive. Furthermore it doesn’t depict real life as it is but rather fantasy. That’s okay so long as people can distinguish between fantasy and reality - and maintain that distinction. There is a point at which it becomes problematic and that’s when the important distinction between fantasy and reality becomes blurred or, worse, lost altogether.

Paulski, I totally agree with you. I have been viewing porn since I was probably sixteen years old. I’ve been wanting to quit viewing it for two years now. It can be so hard kind of like cutting out sugar from my diet. My brain always goes to objectify women, and I’m hoping quitting porn can help me objectify less. I have been doing PE for two weeks now and have been free from porn for about a week and a half, I feel it also makes my PE sessions more efficient and focused. I wish everyone the best of luck quitting porn if they are addicted. Something that has helped me is to fill the time viewing porn with something else more productive. And PE has been very helpful for me to stop viewing porn.

We all know where our short comings are, something that may not seemingly have an impact on others may hold adverse results for us.

It is every individual’s responsibility to monitor and assess oneself and the impact some of these things including porn may have. If porn is contributing to a lack of connection with real partners and impairing your sex and quality of life. Quit that sh*t quicker than a duck running a marathon in the Gobi.

Watching porn, and masturbating twice per day caused me same problems like weak erection, now its harder to keep up strong erection and get spontaneous erections. So I also decided to take rest off this hobby

There is no way I could quit porn

I’m in. I actually already began in January. I’ve abstained from porn earlier for a year or two but then got back in the train for a “couple of rides”, 6 years later and I’m still watching porn.

Very nicely written I must say.
