What you are describing is a normal effect of aging. I’m 57 and it is generally the same for me. I usually need at least some physical stimulation to become completely erect and stay completely erect.

Refractory time is variable, but sort of irrelevant since my wife would rarely be interested in having sex more than once a day.

Erection angle also typically decreases with age. That’s life.

Yeah, this was Dr. OZ advice as well (for what that’s worth).

I don’t ejaculate -every- time I edge, it can be fun not to. Sex I do, that is part of her fun - she would be disappointed if I didn’t. And who I am to disappoint her… ;)

Aghhhhh the old “Men who jerked 4 plus time a week in their teens are less likely to get prostate trouble in later life” mantra.

To that I would answer:
1) Like everybody else I was jerking off 3 times a day in my late teens except when I had a g/f in which case I was still cuming one or twice a day.
2) This idea that men should ejaculate comes from an Australian study. IIRC It looked at the prostate health of older men, and asked them about their jerking habits as young men. No study was done specifically for edgers or semen retainers.

I accept that sexual activity is healthy for the prostate. But it might be that you don’t need to necessarily cum. During arousal, all kinds of fluids are released, and even if they don’t shoot out, they certainly leak out :) But who knows? What I’m doing may not be healthy. But at least I don’t smoke or eat much junk food. If Thunders is still here in 20 or 30 years time, I’ll report back - by then there’ll be a little sample port on most lap-tops, and I will be able to send sperm sample data to the TP repository. And then we’ll know for sure (:

the greatest percentage of seminal fluid is designed to deliver and to protect a relatively miniscule percentage of actual pay-load. Sperm constitute only about 5 % of our total ejaculatory fluid output.

Back to the dopamine precursors…

I did not get on with th DL-Phenylalanine it made me feel detached from the stress, and stopped my mind wondering, but also made me a bit dopey. And to the extent that I felt detached, sex was not very good - by body felt a bit numb. HOWEVER - I did get a noticeably better flaccid hang! But not much use if you don’t feel sexy.

So I stopped the DL-Phenylalanine and went back to the L-Theanine.

However, just to mix things up, I added L-Tyrosine, which is one of the metabolites of Phenylalanine. I feel pepped up :) I also decided to pay hoomage to Zaneblue, and take some high quality fish-oil. Fish-oil usually take a couple of weeks to kick in, so I feel it’s not affecting my testing of the amino acids too much. The L-Theanine and L-Tyrosine take only half an hour to start raising my mood - which is fun.

I don’t normally do weirdo powders and supplements, but I am highly motivated to bring my sex drive back to “normal” as well as making the studying easier. I certainly feel less challenged in the university lectures. Today was my day off, but tomorrow is a killer: Physics followed by double chemistry, followed by double maths. Lessons finish at 6.05pm. So I’ll be necking those powders and pills like it’s going out of fashion :D

Her book - the orgasmic diet - was actually written for women. However, fish-oil increases genital sensitivity in men as well. I never had the really high quality oil until now. But when I was taking it before, we were having sex for up to 3 hours a day in the baking heat of Spain.

I will let you know what the new stuff is like. I bought it online from the UK. It is 75% EPA/DHA which is incredible.

If I was going to do it long term, I would have to find a fish oil with low mercury levels, as some have quite a lot of the stuff.

I think it hinders, if you are arguing that fluids leaking out during arousal are contributing to your prostate’s health.

My argument would be that those are likely largely NOT prostatic fluids, and thus are not contributing to keeping your prostate ‘flushed.’ Pre-cum is more a product of Cowpers glands.

Just supplement with Nettle Root Extract, and your prostate will be healthy and won’t enlarge- simple. :)

I would guess that the body would gradually re-absorb the semen back into the blood no?

I do agree that perhaps it’s not preferable prostate-health wise to practice semen retention. I only ejaculate once a week, so that I get the testosterone spike each week(on the seventh day). Yet quite often I will have nocturnal emissions. My body is obviously communicating something there. I am only 19 however.

Hey bro, please don’t take it personally. My comments certainly weren’t meant that way. All I was trying to infer is that there is a body of evidence that says you should release it all three or four times a week.

That does not mean that edging is harmful. Rather, I was trying to say that, maybe, sometimes you should let it all go. I edge most days (sometimes twice), but only shoot my bolt about four times a week in line with recommendations. That way, I can keep my libido up, enjoy sex and I feel good. Anyway, after edging a few times, I feel I want to let it all go.
