Morning wood

Is it normal that I don’t wake up with morning hard-on like in the puberty years? I am 23, I have some anxiety but even if I feel good I don’t have it anymore. I also take some antidepressants but they don’t affect my libido (getting it hard) at all (-> aurorix).
This happens just about never (maybe once in the 2006 I got it), not even if I take ZMA (which should give you vivid dreams)

I tried posting this in the sexual health section, but was unable for some reason (it displayed a message that I’m not activated or sth like that..
Any ideas? Moderators?

It is normal to wake up without a morning wood. It could happen that someone wakes up every morning with morning wood. This person wakes up from REM sleep. You wake up from another stage of sleep and don’t wake up with a morning wood. There is nothing wrong with that.

The reason why you couldn’t start a thread anywhere else than the newbie routine is that you haven’t reached the necessary amount of posts to be able to post in other threads. The amount that is required is 20.

I think it depends on the person too. I’m 29 and still wake up with morning wood every day. Hell, if I go too long without whacking off, I’ll have a wet dream! Just had one last week after 4 days without masturbation. It was a pain in the butt to take care of, but at least it felt good during the dream.

I once went a couple (two I think) weeks without masturbation. I felt really depressed and there was a point of relief when I actually did it. Go figure. No wet dreams, no wood, no additional energy. Go figure.

Also what’s with the spell checker? I presume there’s no option of turning it off?

I don’t often have morning wood (maybe once a week), but do often wake in the night with a semi or a 3/4 hard on.

I did go through a stage where I never got morning/night woods at all. Getting fitter with lots of CV work has changed that a lot though. Sack weightraing + go running - it works wonders!

We’re all different!

I exercise regularly and take ZMA every night. Always have hard morning wood that wakes me up around 4am and distracts me until I get out of bed around 6am.

Losing my morning wood is what led me to PE. I began researching penile health and found some of the “strengthening exercises” were the same as PE. I only fail to have morning wood now if I overtrain doing PE.

BTW, I’m 51.

I began seeing results first with jelqing and kegaling. I then added a pump, but quickly overdid it and lost my initial erectile gains (along with my mind) for a few days.

Now, as long as I don’t overtrain, I keep a stronger, more frequent erection as I alternate stretching (manual and static), jelqing, hanging, pumping and clamping. Losing morning wood has become the greatest indicator that I’ve overdone it.

I’ve gotten over my lack of erections to the point that getting bigger has become my target. That’s a welcome change from 4-6 months ago!

Jelqs and kegels definitely help out in overall penile health (my morning wood has increased substantially since doing them). However, I wouldn’t be to worried if you don’t have morning wood because, as Bird2 said, it has more to do with what stage of sleep you wake up in rather than being a sign of a healthy penis. Although, for those of us who do get them, it’s a great indicator of over-training if they go away.

I hope you soon recover your morning woods I too am 23 and in the middle of the year….I was struck with a problem were it just seemed that I would get no woods what so ever and when I did get them maintaining them was difficult. I found that the problem was my diet,stress levels, lack of sleep….I started eating a lot more salmon,popped some zinc and L-Arginine. I mean right now I am back to those woods even though I do not take the listed supplements on a regular basis. (Oh yes and kegels they did wonders)

Jafar_T: with respect to TA, I definitely find it’s best to cycle. If I go too long on it I get really irritable, not sure why. I don’t think it had any effect on word, more effect on libido, I suspect.
