Kegel - the secret revealed

A Question For Matt356;

Dear Matt: I appreciate your effort in explaining stuff about this IC-muscle, but I also agree with the above definition of the “Woodoo thread”.

I have read the hole thread and I still am wondering: IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO TRAIN THAT MUSCLE? - I mean a way, that does not involve all this »concentrating on the dorsal side of the penis«, »imagining of rings around your penis« and similar stuff, like »standing next to a wall, trying to pull it in«, »sitting on a chair and doing this and that«.?
I also hate it trying to reconstruct to which of the previous posts do your comments like “yes, that is it”, “this is what you should do”, etc. Refer to.

So, Matt, PLEASE, can you once more write - in an EXOTERIC WAY - what is it that one should do in order to strengten the IC muscle? WHAT EXACTLY is it than, that is reffered to as “yes, do this”, “that is it”, “you are right”, etc.?

IS IT THE MOVING OF THE PRICK UP AND DOWN – WITH A TOWEL OR WITHOUT IT? OR IS IT SOMETHING EXTRA TO THAT EXCERCISE?
And if this is so, what is the difference between stopping of the urine-flow (which, as I figure, involves the BC muscle) and waving the dick? – I, for example, can always do the »waving« just as an extra to the »stopping of the flow«. Is it just me? So, should we train both muscles – IC and BC? IC for the erection, and BC for ejaculation strenght? Or should we train just one of them (because they somehow interfere or something like that)?

WHERE AND HOW DO WE FEEL THAT MUSCLE? PRESSING THE SIDES OF THE SHAFT? OR MAYBE THE UPPER PART OF IT WHERE IT MEETS THE LOWER BELLY?

And the last question: Is it possible to over-train the IC-muscle (like if you do it too much, let us say, a few days in a row), so that it becomes so weak, that one has trouble getting a firm erection at all?

So, once again, I appreciate the effort, but can you PLEASE bother to do this final effort that will finaly put thing in to place?
And it should be like this: “Towel - YES”, or “Towel - NO”; or maybe “Towel - YES, but .”
Can you do it? PLEASE?

Best regards, Naybolji

An additional question: Is it possible to start a new thread that wold be simply named “IC muscle”, and that will be a little bit more organised - that is short and intelligible?

I wasn’t able to struggle myself past the fifth page of this thread, though I consider it of much interest. That’s mainly because the terms used to explain things were ambiguous. For example, “focus on the dorsal area of your penis” could mean to turn your attention to that part, meditate about it, or contract/relax some muscle in that area. Which one of these meanings was intended? Rhetorical question…

I think the idea was that in the area between the pelvis and the anus there are several muscle groups, each having different roles. We should be able to make a clear distinction among them and contract only the proper one for a certain effect. If I got it right…
Now, how should we enhance our ‘muscle feeling’ resolution to distinguish among those interlaced muscles, that should the PO explain in clear terms.

Those muscles works together during ejaculation. IC keeps it hard, BC moves the semen/urine out. It’s up to you - what’s your aim.

“WHERE AND HOW DO WE FEEL THAT MUSCLE? PRESSING THE SIDES OF THE SHAFT? OR MAYBE THE UPPER PART OF IT WHERE IT MEETS THE LOWER BELLY?”
You answered yourself at the very beginning: “I have read the hole thread and I still am wondering: IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO TRAIN THAT MUSCLE? -.Concentrating on the dorsal side of the penis«, »imagining of rings around your penis« and similar stuff, like”. No sides. Just feel the flex that gives effect on the upper part of the penis. It causes the penis to wave there. It’s strong feeling.”

“And the last question: Is it possible to over-train the IC-muscle (like if you do it too much, let us say, a few days in a row), so that it becomes so weak, that one has trouble getting a firm erection at all?”
No. This muscle is too small to over-train it so hard, because you don’t have so much control over it as over the biceps, triceps etc.

“So, once again, I appreciate the effort, but can you PLEASE bother to do this final effort that will finally put thing in to place?
And it should be like this: “Towel - YES”, or “Towel - NO”; or maybe “Towel - YES, but .”
For erection: Towel - Yes. Feeling the tension under the pubis - Yes. Penis erected close to the navel and high angle of erection - Yes. Using weights on your penis - yes. Pushing out the urine/semen, holding but not retracting - yes.

I know that for most of you this medical-science talk is crap but I have noticed, that many people here are wondering after some time of doing “just the exercises” that they miss something. I wanted to explain them the things that cause problems. It’s eventually a bit complicated, because as cervixhunter has noticed “I think the idea was that in the area between the pelvis and the anus there are several muscle groups, each having different roles. We should be able to make a clear distinction among them and contract only the proper one for a certain effect.”. And as far as there are no bones inside the penis, it’s by that not so easy to exercise it as you do it with your arm for example. But I’m glad to help, just tell me please if I start to get into to many details - it happens sometimes when I start describing some neuro-biological structures that not everybody cares about ;)

Useful.. Thanks a lot for this post.. I have been suffer from pre -ejaculation. Trying kegel for 2 month. Improve is vivid but still I can’t break my ejaculation for first time. It works- when I go second attempt (for 6 minutes hardly). But trying all techniques position changing, relaxing muscles and so on..

Kegel is good among all.. Hope I can overcome.

Interesting for me to stumble across this thread, as I had been doing my own experimentation with Kegel variations and had some insights.

My experience has been that the penis (especially the glans) responds to stimulation with a reflexive contraction of the BC muscle (the herringbone muscle around the base of the penis). This is essentially an involuntary kegel. My experience has shown that traditional kegels in this sense, are useful in that they teach us to RELAX the BC and thus send the signal to NOT ejaculate too soon.

I’ve been practicing masterbating and noticing the subtle contractions in my pelvic floor muscles (BC, IC, etc). What I’ve found is that the more I can relax them (deep breathing, consciously relaxing them, etc) decreases the sensitivity of the penis and helps in keeping arousal levels in check, and controlling ejaculation.

Where the IC comes into play in all of this, I’ve only very recently discovered, is that if I focus on a subtle, low level contraction on the dorsal (upper surface) side of the penis, near the base of the shaft, this makes my glans less sensitive, and stops the reflexive contraction of the BC that accelerates the on-coming ejaculation.

I’m not sure why this is the case, and I haven’t gained full mastery of it by any means, but it is interesting and very promising to me, because of its implications in ejaculation control. I’ve theorized that maybe holding a slight contraction of the IC reciprocally inhibits (big word for “shuts off” the BC muscle) and therefore prevents arousal from reaching that point of no return (ejaculation).

I’m personally pretty excited of having another tool in the toolbox for controlling ejaculation, and I’m going to experiment further with this IC contraction thing, but I’d be curious to hear others experience as well.

Ok it took me a while but I definitely got it. What really helped me is pressing lightly on the top side of the base of my penis, and then feeling which muscles contract while visualising squeezing around the base of your cock. If you feel a lot of anal pull then you are not focusing on your IC. Not to say that you shouldn’t exercise all the muscles down there, I just think being able to freely control all of them is definitely a strength to have

AceDuece if you want to find a quick way to delay ejaculation, so here it is: when you feel very aroused and near to cum (but no more than 90%) try to “pull back” internal structures of muscles inside your pelvis towards your bottom. It has nothing to do with any contraction of the penis but by that you can greatly delay ejaculation because the tension of the muscles leaves the penis then and it is redirected to your buttocks. As far as they absorb a lot of blood then, your erection will decrease and you can (using this simple trick) have sex for hours then.

I think I’ve gotten it. I think this muscle is what I’ve been looking for for a very long time. Now for the procedure

1. Stand up straight and push your middle finger (the longest) between your crotch and thigh, so that the finger passes at the corner where your crotch and thigh meet. Put your left finger in the left side of the crotch and the right finger in the right side
2. Insert the finger in till the first joint of your finger touches the hard thigh tendon connecting it to the pelvis
3. Your finger tips should now be somewhere between your crotch and anus. Slightly squeeze the portion of meat between your two fingers (press slightly upwards and inwards)
4. Now try to contract the muscle where your finger tips are touching. If you have a slight hardon, you will see your pole lifting up

Or alternatively

5. If you have a hard on, try to lift your pole. You will feel this muscle contracting.

That’s an interesting suggestion, I saw it also called as “the external lock” - it is used to mechanicaly stop the semen inside your body when you ejaculate and your muscles are to weak to do so. Just few questions, if I may..

Tendon or the ramus of the ischial bone? Because you can feel the bones under the structures and I’m not sure how far you want to go here. And as far as the hips and perineum are something about 10cm long at this area, please write exactly where this place is because my fingertips are not that big :D ;)

3. Your finger tips should now be somewhere between your crotch and anus. Slightly squeeze the portion of meat between your two fingers (press slightly upwards and inwards
You mean the internal “tube” where the urine/semen goes or you mean the muscles on both sides of it that are “before” the ischial bones?

4. Now try to contract the muscle where your finger tips are touching. If you have a slight hardon, you will see your pole lifting up
You mean rather pushing from he outside or pulling from inside of the body?

Thanks for details ;)

Woo Matt, I think you are at the wrong location. You don’t need to press into any thing so hard.

- Point 2, Just put your finger along the groove between your crotch and thigh. Don’t press in, don’t push anything

- Point 3, your finger will just be in the groove. Now just slightly press your finger tips inwards (towards the crotch side). You shouldn’t feel tubes or bones, you finger tips will just be on top of the muscle, so that you can feel it contract.

- Point 4, Just try to force a hard on. This muscle will contract.

I was working this out what you have described and it seems to be that it’s a very good way of identifying and exercising whole pelvic floor. It seems that (if my conclusions are correct) by this move you activate the triangle of uro-genital diaphragm in the smaller pelvis of male. It’s good because you work all the muscles at one time and you are sure that by skipping isolation you won’t miss any muscle. It’s surely great way for those who don’t want to go into scientific crap ;) But I find your suggestions very helpful for the whole subject. Many thanks for all - you’ve done a great job here for everyone interested. You saved some people a lot of trouble :)

I cannot really describe the muscles scientifically, forgive me. Actually, the muscle am trying to isolate by touch is just behind the crotch. When I contracted it at first, I felt those excitations as if am getting aroused. It also feels like it surrounds my balls. When I contracted the muscles while pressing with my fingers, I felt as if it blocked my urethra. I cannot describe it any more than this.

With this description, are we talking about the same muscles?

Yes and no ;) . You are talking about whole group of muscles and you also give a good example how to copy with them. I was concentrating more on 1-2 muscles from whole the group you were talking about. I perfectly understand what you say and I agree with your statements. It’s just I wasn’t mentioning about the cremaster muscle, the deep transversus perinei muscles and the muscles over the upper-thigh area. You did (not by the names of course - but this is it) and that’s the difference :)
